Just lighten up chubby and just enjoy a win. Pissed off losing and happy winning. No science to it. That’s what it is.
Plus we played great today so why not just praise the result and performance rather than have a dig at fans.13 January 2019 at 12:39 pm #175149Just lighten up chubby and just enjoy a win. Pissed off losing and happy winning. No science to it. That’s what it is.

It appears to me that some of our supporters actually want us to fail so they can be the first to come on here to spout their drivel & prove they are right all along. I wouldn’t have been at all surprised if 1 or 2 had their post match thread ready to post on here following the game with their usual “cook out of his depth, tactics etc, etc cr@p.” But no! We win a game & they are nowhere to be seen or heard.
You can kind of understand the frustration.
13 January 2019 at 4:22 pm #175157Cook will be the most relieved man this morning! I really do think he would have gone had we lost yesterday! Hopefully start getting some points on the board again and then take it from there!
13 January 2019 at 5:01 pm #175160Still on a high and even sweeter that it was the MASSIVE Villa. Fabulous result from the boys and hopefully we now move on up. COYL

Yep, pretty much sums it up for me too.
13 January 2019 at 6:00 pm #175164Swallow/summer !!….Cook just needs to continue with the offensive mindset like yesterday and we’ll be ok. Those last 3 months of shocking performances were down to some of his strange team selections and negative set ups. Remember all you Cook cult members …All those defeats did REALLY happen.
13 January 2019 at 6:03 pm #175165Ps….I was one of the first to praise Cook yesterday. Unlike the ultra positives who have been in utter denial that Cook got ANYTHING wrong in the last 3 months…Well done Cook….more of the same please!!!
13 January 2019 at 7:45 pm #175167Dont think anyone said he had done no wrong, but we could see the bigger picture in terms of injuries, transfer budgets and goals. I genuinely think some people still believe we should be in the top flight.

Secondly, & in some kind of defence re: your argument about cook getting ANYTHING wrong, yes he probably did TBF!
He lost his main attacking unit through injury, & when he has had to re-shuffle his pack, he probably did get it wrong at times re: selections/formations etc – infact many times. He also had to change the style of play to suit these players coming in to replace the injured ones. And yes, probably/definitely that didn’t work either.
In addition, confidence has probably played a part too. A severe losing streak can damage the moral & confidence that can spread through the whole team. I honestly believe that had abraham took his chance yesterday a la jones & kipre cock up, we probably would have been back at square one, heads down & probably suffered yet another defeat. And how the floodgates would have opened on here then.
The third issue is the “cook out of his depth” belief. We all know the guy has never managed before at this level. Yes he has made mistakes, as mentioned earlier & will probably continue to do so until may. But he is still learning at this level. And as long as we stay up – the main goal of this season, which i think some have forgot was the actual aim for this season, cook will have done well in my book.

That’s about the biggest load of bollocks i have read in along time, you are truly one big blue vain member.
Superb effort by all yesterday and a brilliant 3pts but 1 win doesn’t make us promotion candidates.
We need to follow up with the same effort in our next game and remind Cook what of happened against Bolton the week after thrashing Blackburn and to keep his finger off the tinker button.“Want us to fail” FFS pal get real and stump out the skunk
13 January 2019 at 10:03 pm #175171Where has he mentioned playoff candidates ya bell? Tbats what half of you think we are but its about staying up. We were always gonna be in a bottom 6 or 7 slugfest.
BTW, Cookie who is out his depth almost as more wins than our last 2 seasons in this league. 8 so far and 9 and 10 to beat.
13 January 2019 at 10:20 pm #175175Nobody wants us to fail but it does seem to be a Wigan thing to moan and criticise each and every little thing and then offer next to no praise when it’s warranted. A win over a better side usually results in them listing how many key men they were missing and that they weren’t at their best as opposed to us simply being better.

Villa fans were a lot worse than us yesterday. West brom fans were just as bad when we beat them at our place.
It’s a natural reaction to be brassed off when your team lose, just some vent their anger on a message board.13 January 2019 at 11:05 pm #175178I’m well aware of that, but our fans seem to take it to an extreme at times.
