Just got in from a very wet DW Stadium.
Assessment of today’s game…..
Much improved effort and determination.
Players playing with a bit more confidence and freedom.
Couldn’t fault the effort today.
Why has Andy Kellett hardly played? He’s a decent player and filled in for the absent Warnock very well. Unlucky to get injured.
Dan Burn was like a man possessed, in his efforts.
Overall, a good effort and battling 90 minutes.Downsides….
Bogle is either lazy/playing with an injury/or simply not good enough. He isn’t mobile enough. Hopefully he can come back for next season raring to go in league one.
Obertan. I think the guy is shocking, and is in no way a replacement for Wilshut. He was very much Joyce’s man, how he came here and I think he needs to follow him out the door. Colclough came on and looked twice the player. Nice to see Morgan back as well, surely this shows that Joyce was just ignoring a few players out of stubbornness.
The 2 goals we conceded. I’m sure Graham won’t be happy with how we conceded them, both needed to be defended better, though maybe Gilks was fouled for the first.It’s not games against the likes of Villa that have cost us, it’s the slip ups against the likes of Rotherham and Blackburn that have. Villa are a side that will be there or there abouts next season.
Bogle to be fair has taken a massive jump from league 2 to championship. Its a huge ask IMO to put the burden on him, espevially now grigg is injured.
Agree with all the rest. A lot more effort, passion & uptempo. Dan burn excellent again.
Yes can’t disagree. Much better performance and unlucky not to have scored given the number of chances (when was the last time we said that?)
Downside….well that’s sadly obvious.
Whilst we’re not technically down, and I won’t give up until it’s physically impossible, I think today was the end of the line. Now 7 points off safety…a minimum of 3 games.
Sorry but just can’t see us escaping from that, especially with the away games we’ve got.
Even if we can win all 4 home games left, 46 points is very unlikely to be enough..Upside…we’re going to Southend again to stand under that corrugated iron roof :woohoo:

Then their was a bust up in a meeting between him and another person over the incident and he was told he would never play for the club again._._but rumours are just that or are they ?Cannot fault the commitment and heart of any of the team, but stating the obvious, sadly we are just not good enough to stay in this league, its really as simple as that.
As much chance of keeping Burn as Nelson getting his eye back. Brilliant lad committed to the cause.

As daft as it sounds we were so much better today took the game to the opposition and looked the better side.
We took the game to the opposition and have now finally got something to work on. The points will come now with performances like that even if its to little to late we were relegated 2 years ago with a poor side if were relegated again we still have a very strong squad.

He did smash a ball into crowd in frustration. I think It was at full time of the Forest home game. I don’t belive it hit a child, though I think there were children close by.
I can well imagine he was spoken to.abput the incident, and I do believe there has been some kind of fallout with him and the club. Though he DID feature away at Blackburn.I don’t think he will play for the club again, though.
Not surprised he has been frustrated. Shearer at his sharpest would have been frustrated if playing for us this season if he had had the support and service Grigg has had.
One thing’s for sure we wouldn’t be in the bottom 3 this season if we had played with that level of commitment seen today.
You don’t get dropped for kicking a ball into crowd after a frustrating defeat!NO.
But you will get dropped if you react indifferently when questioned about it by the club. Not saying he did…maybe…maybe not. I don’t know.
