2 March 2010 at 10:45 pm #25077Ok – I thought there would be loads of questions already….
Anyway, I would like to ask Bob….
In a recent news article, you stated you would need two or three transfer windows to get the team right. Do you still stand by this and what sorts of players (including their technical attributes) would you be looking for?
Also, ask him why he doesn’t wear a Wigan Athletic scarf in the same way Manchini does at city ;)
2 March 2010 at 11:41 pm #25080Well Jay, the scarf question has to be at the top of the list ;)

Simples.
3 March 2010 at 1:34 am #25092What about asking him the following for me please:
Does he feel that as a club we have moved forward since the start of the season and is he happy with the current status at the club from an off field and also an on field position.
3 March 2010 at 1:56 am #25097My ones just in case anyone duplicates them….
1) Roberto-I think most of us appreciate the work you and your staff have put in since your arrival in trying to change the way the team plays. We are unrecognisable from the long ball team which we undoubtedly were under your predecessor. We understand that this drastic change cannot occur over night and many of us can see the improvements we are making.
Having said that there was a short spell in the recent game against Tottenham when we found ourselves with two strikers up front and we started to trouble Spurs, retained more possession in their half and looked like we may take something from the game. Further substitutions were then made and we reverted back to one striker and we invited pressure again and Spurs won the game with little threat from us.
In hindsight do you regret the fact that we did not keep two strikers up front?
Would you be able to assure the fans that in the last few games of the season you will be more open to playing a more traditional 4-4-2 if it is seen to be working, especially at home?2) On a different note-There has been much made by the press of Latics small attendances at some games. Do you feel that this aspect has any effect on the player’s attitude when they run out to a small home crowd? If so, have you explained to the players that Wigan is a small town, in a relatively under privileged area of the country, surrounded by more established clubs and have you recounted to the players your own experiences of the way this club has dramatically grown since your time here as a player?
3 March 2010 at 2:11 am #25101Excellent questions Yick, and most eloquently put. I would like to hear Bobs reply.

Very well presented by that gent from Yick.
3 March 2010 at 2:25 am #25104Here’s something that I’ve been wondering for a while (not sure how appropriate it is though):
Hendry Thomas was originally set to join the club during Steve Bruce’s management rein, but the move stalled at the last minute due to work permit complications.
Was Hendry’s move orchestrated by yourself, or did he come to Wigan due an existing pre-contract agreement? Good player though he may be, if the latter is the case, was he a player that would have been on the radar anyway?

alter that question slightly
did you sign him because he had an existing pre – contract and was that contract so water tight we couldnt get out of it,because if you have any knowledge of football at all you would not have signed him ?
no doubt jayt you wont ask any questions from those who dare to question mr.martinez’s ability,
or if you do ask him what did he see in graham barrow that convinced him he was upto being a premiership coach when he has been sacked at every lower league club managers post he has ever had,or was he someone he took pity on ?
or has mr whelan told him how much of the parachute payment money will be made available to him ?
now there are many questions that wont get asked because – the hand picked patsies that attend wont dare question this man who is running the club directly to the championship with his inability and stubborness.
jayt you are part of the editorial /admin are you not, of a publication thats foundation was by group of people who asked searching pertinent questions about the mismanagement of bates and hamilton and freddie pye and the likes, that the general media didnt, isnt that the whole point of a fanzine, there are many fans on here and in the stands every week(and growing by the day) who want some serious things asked ,not why he has brown shoes or a beige fecking scarf,
you represent ALL of us on here in this meeting and at least 30% dont agree with martinez and his tactics – so does that mean 30% of your questions to him will question his methods, plans and ability?
you say, and it is repeated by many on here, that we should be pulling together and getting behind wigan athletic as fans and yes i agree,
what i want to know more than anything is roberto, his coaching staff and the players getting behind wigan athletic, because quite frankly myself and a growing number game after game are finding it hard to believe.i wont hold my breath.

You don’t really help your cause do you? Compare your sarcastic rant above to the reasonably put questions from Yick and Standish.
Why not go the whole hog and ask JayT to ask Roberto why he is such a clueless Spanish pr*ck and could he possibly give some thought to f****** off back home sometime soon?
I expected better of you, to be honest.
3 March 2010 at 1:22 pm #25118I didn’t with some of the crap he posts on here.
Loudmouth, why don’t you go to the meeting and boo through the door or something? :o
3 March 2010 at 2:13 pm #25121Why has my question about the pitch not being up to the style of play been removed ?????
And before anyone says its a new pitch,it will soon be like a morass again just like last time !

Ask it again, it’s a good question.
