I’m going to the Semi as I wouldn’t be able to make the final if we make it. I would move heaven and earth to get there though if I could. With respect to the numbers of ticket sales- we won’t know exactly what’s gone until the day so don’t worry about it.
It’s not our problem. It’s the FA’s problem.
Exploiting clubs for financial gain is nothing new to them and this is another example.
If there are empty seats then so be it. I don’t support my club because we have 30k following at home. I follow them because they’re in my heart.
3 April 2013 at 4:46 pm #107445i also expected at least 20/25k probably wont even reach 20
3 April 2013 at 4:48 pm #107446Just rang ticket office for extra tickets for Wembley.
Reply where would you like to sit take your pick :ohmy:Why when we are 90 mins away from Europe have we not at least nearly sold out embarassed by our support sometimes.
Arr well will just have to shout and sing louder
Come on lads get behind the team and get your tickets
I did the same yesterday and considering i bought mine on the first day of them going on sale to season ticket holders the two additional tickets were in the very next block. Didn’t expect us to sell out but hoped we could take 20k as anything less will be a bit embarrassing.
Grimsby & Wrexham took about 18k each for their final at Wembley and they are non league
3 April 2013 at 4:51 pm #107448It would be good to have enough fans to create a good atmosphere and to match the Millwall fans.
Of course it’s unfair to northern teams and their fans to play semi finals – and play off finals – at Wembley. But that doesn’t matter to the FA.

Couldn’t give 2 s**ts about how many we take to be honest.
As long as all our proper fans are out in force showing some passion & making some noise, then I’ll be happy.
If we did take 25k, then 10k would just be day-trippers who couldn’t give a flying fork whether we won or not… so I’m really not arsed whether those sort of people decide to turn out.
Ye, it would look better for the TV cameras – but who’s bothered, really?
We’ve had enough stick in the past for our following, and look at us… 8 years in the Prem and at Wembley watching our little club in the FA Cup semis.
If people want to overlook our achievement, and just want to poke fun at the fact a team based in a town of 80000 people couldn’t sell 30000 tickets, then leave them to it.
They’re clearly simple minded tossers who know f*ck all about our club, or football in general.
Big attendances don’t win you games.
No fans, no money, no history… NO WORRIES!

you say that but most players will tell you that fans spare them on and can act as a 12th man

Quite right, and it would stop people harping on about the size of our fanbase…
On another note, i might be wrong with this but does anyone else think there has been a lack of promoting for this semi by the club? Would have thought the club would have marketed this better with the local radio station & papers etc to create more of a buzz around town?

So you think the extra 10k day-trippers would be the ones making all the noise?Don’t be so naive – they would just fill seats.
The noise will be coming from the exact same people who make the noise at our home/away games every week..

i know who will be making the noise and singing their hearts out but an extra 10k would add to that atmosphere

I’m not saying it wouldn’t be nice.
I’m just saying I’m not fussed either way.
Whether the day-trippers show up or not, the noise levels will be about the same. ‘Cos the usual loud, passionate bunch who REALLY support the team home and away will still be there making all the noise… just like they do all season.

With them it’s all about the dosh. I know they have to justify the expense of building the new Wembley by using it at every opportunity but there should be some flexibilty when , as with our semi , the venue creates a total imbalance favouring one team or more accurately one set of supporters.
