Despite all the negativeness surrounding the lack of signings, and our poor form, etc, I have to admit that I am very much looking forward to the game on Saturday.
There are no ‘if’s, but’s, and maybe’s’ anymore, at least. I mean, we know that the players we’ve got are what we have until January. Perhaps this may put one or two of their minds at rest, rather than thinking their place is up for grabs for a new signing, and in one or two cases, they now know they are at the DW stadium until at least January, even if they don’t want to be. I just hope that they start to repay Roberto’s faith in them.
What I don’t want at the match, is if things start going wrong, I don’t want to hear all the moaning and comments of “Spend some bloody money, Martinez!”. For one, it’s NOT his fault. And for two, he can’t anyway until January. Granted, we may sign this M’Bame, and perhaps another ‘freebie’. But I wonder that if they were any good, wouldn’t they have been snapped up by now? Just a thought.

But what I am saying is, it’s no use people moaning and getting on the players backs. We really HAVE to support them, now. On the flipside, it’s time for them to stand up and be counted. Some of them still need to prove they can play at this level, and now they have the chance.

As for the game, West Ham is usually a decent match. I may get slaughtered for saying this, but I actually don’t mind them as a side or a club. (Hey, I’m being honest) Some good players like Noble and Cole. It’ll be a hard game. Zola’s a decent coach, I think. And as for their fans, I’ve never had a problem with them. They always come across as genuine Cockney types, rather than a load of them turning up with Yorkshire accents. (A la Chelsea/Arsenal) I’ve enjoyed a good few pre-match pints with them, as it happens.
(I cannot believe that the riots at the Millwall match seem to have been brushed under the carpet, though! Any other club would have been seriously fined and punished, by now. I can understand why people get annoyed by things like that)

Personally, the international break has done me good. I’m always against meaningless friendlies, but in our case, I mean the fans, perhaps it was more than welcome.
Don’t get me wrong, I STILL think we should have spent some money, and I STILL think that failure to do so will catch up on us. But I honestly hope that I am proved wrong. I am very concerned as to what crowd we will have on Saturday, mind.

        Dave has spoken.

Forget the moaning, the slagging off of everyone and the endless drivel he’s been speaking for the past few weeks.

Dave says support the lads now, so support the lads we must do!

          I think he’s a schizo.

A psychologist would have a field day with that message

Read it again, oh self-authoritive ones.

Do you know something? I’ve never met anybody like the people that come on here. Wiganers I mean.
Now I know this is a generalisation, and yes, that’s not fair. Some people are sound. But for christ’s sake, when you make a sensible post and get the response like I have just got from Springfield Blue and Piemon, it beggars belief.
You WANT positive comments…..so I GIVE you some. And what do you do? You criticize. Honest to god, I’ve never met people like you. To be truth, you’s are all a very bit weird. I’d say almost of the ‘inbred’ variety.

You come on here, giving it the ‘big man’ routine, pouring scorn on sensible posts. Anyone would think that you don’t want anybody having a say, other than yourselves………

FACTS: I have NEVER blamed Martinez. His hands are tied. It’s obvious.
            I STILL think Whelan’s a tight-wad.
I STILL don’t think we are good enough.

But we’ve bypassed the chance to change things, until January, so my post was basically saying that we have to accept what we have got, and there’s no point in people moaning at matches from now on if we start getting beat.
I certainly WON’T be stressing about things from now on, if we start getting tonked. Honestly. And you know why? Because there’ll be a part of me deep down inside that is smugly saying “I told you so”. That’s not anti-Latics, the players, or management. That is towards people like YOU who jump on every little thing I say, no matter if it makes sense or not.

I agree with the west ham players comment and i think saturday could be a great game between 2 footballing sides i just dont think that we are not good enough!

I think we may have lost a bit of strength in the team but we are definatly stronger outside the first 11 than we were!

I just cant help but feel that going forward yeah we are pacy but weve got no power or strength and can be knocked off the ball too easy! Id kill for a Carlton Cole to be leading the line!

I agree, Faz. To be honest, I’m scared of them tonking us on Saturday. I really rate Noble as a player. Cracking midfielder. I’m half expecting a very sluggish performance from us, which will be blamed on players jetting all over the world for internationals. I hope not, but that’s what I’m expecting. I don’t think their players will be travelling as far, which is a concern.
Perhaps some Croat can stick the boot in on Green in the 88th minute, or something? Lol!

Usually see some good football in this fixture, though.

I know we called a truce on negativity but at least talk a bit of sense. All the players who left would have walked into this team so I ask how are we stronger? Cause I just don’t see it, Sorry!!!!!!
