It was all wrong, the way it was done, and at the time I told Matt McCann as much.
   [/quote]
And that, my friends, is exactly why I don’t bother on here.
Yes, I told McCann. I spoke to him direct. Him, and Hayton.
What’s wrong with that, gob shyte? Or do you think they can do no wrong?

7 July 2010 at 2:33 pm #39312You know something? I’ve had a season ticket for 25 years now, and at times I’ve felt ‘hard-done’ by. Why? Because of certain things that have happened, the way things have been administrated, etc. Such as, the free Carling Cup Final tickets given to ‘loyal fans’. The whole way it was done was ridiculous. I had people I know, who had been watching us for a couple of seasons, waving tickets in my face, yet myself and my father didn’t get any. It was all wrong, the way it was done, and at the time I told Matt McCann as much.
And then there are the yearly ‘rewards’ that are supposedly given. The ‘bring a friend for a fiver’,or whatever. That’s all fine and well, but how is it rewarding the actual season ticket holder? It isn’t. The club can’t seem to grasp this, and don’t help themselves by the way they market it as a ‘reward for season ticket holders’. It isn’t.Why don’t they just issue a voucher to season ticket holders for, say, the value of £10 or £15, for redemption in the club shop. These could be collected from the ticket office, and marked off against your season ticket. Most people would by a replica shirt or something which needed money putting to it, so they’d get a fair chunk of the expense back.
Is it THAT difficult? Surely this would BE a reward for s/t holders?
Exactly my point… Im sure every one that posted after me have been going since we got in the PL.
New supports are treated like gods, and us few that have had a season ticket for years get nothing!!
Yes its great that the season ticket is cheap, but the only way they get around this is to skint us in other areas of the business.

7 July 2010 at 3:31 pm #39329Why do so many Latics fans expect something in return for buying a season ticket.
FFS, your season ticket costs virtually bu**er all, is that not enough reward.
Get a life and find something else to moan about, you’re boring the t*ts off us.7 July 2010 at 3:33 pm #39331I’ve supported Latics 10 years :)
7 July 2010 at 3:37 pm #39334I’ve supported Latics 10 years :)If you want to make it to eleven years stop ‘linking’ to all the inane drivvel that everybody reads on ‘Newsnow’ anyway.
We could all start to try to enjoy the site again, and have proper discussions/arguments.7 July 2010 at 3:42 pm #39335Fair Dues!

The club stir it up by the way they market the ‘reward’ to fans, by allowing S/T holders, the people who have stumped up in one fail swoop, to bring ‘Casual Joe’s’ with them for a fiver. I think it takes the Mick.

I understand that, perhaps the club should just stop promising ‘extras & rewards’ and concentrate on generating the extra support themselves by other means.

Yes, they should. Christ, the rugby have kiddies tournaments before games, and stuff like that. Surely with the soccer dome it is tailor-made for doing that? Some coaching from the academy coaches/players, a tournament, followed by a big party and pop and crisps for them, before they come to the match. With teams coming from all over, like they did with the rugby one.
We knock them, but by god, they are far better than us at this type of thing. Their administration and fans side of things is far better than ours.7 July 2010 at 5:25 pm #39354If you don’t want think you get enough value from a Latics season ticket, maybe you’d be better off dropping down and watching Championship football
A season ticket at Leeds is £540, got get ’em kidda ;)

That’s not the point. The point is they keep coming out with ‘rewards’ for ‘loyal s/t holders’…..yet it is nothing of the sort.
And even if you take a friend for a fiver, it’s stupid. Because most people with season tickets sit among other s/t holders…..so where does your ‘guest’ sit? On your knee?, or miles away, on their own?
Stupid, poorly thought out, idea. Some reward, that.

OK then. Just been on to the club, they’ve said you can have a season ticket for £500 ( still cheaper than Leeds ) which will give you the “reward” of getting another person in for free.
The reward for loyalty is inner comfort from knowing that you’ve always been there. And a 6th season of Premier League football. Why do Wiganers always demand summat for nuffin
