My reward this season was saving £210 on a junior season ticket with the Dads & Lads offer.
Of course I have to move to the South stand but I’ll now be able to afford to go to more away games.
I’m with the original poster on this.
Yes – we have great deals.
Yes – the cost of STs is exceptional
No – we shouldn’t be demanding anything else.BUT the important thing is that the club offered it. We’re not saying “on top of the great price we want…”, the club said “on top of the great price we’re offering…”
I haven’t tested it out, but if it is true that they are reneging on those offers then that’s very bad form.
I have no intention of not buying a ST or suchlike – but I do think it’s poor practice. They have advertised something that they are not delivering.
And in relation to the lad who posted on another thread about the club not supporting his special school, I also have examples (which I won’t post on here) of extremely poor PR by the club.
If you don’t want think you get enough value from a Latics season ticket, maybe you’d be better off dropping down and watching Championship football

That’s not the point. The point is they keep coming out with ‘rewards’ for ‘loyal s/t holders’…..yet it is nothing of the sort.
And even if you take a friend for a fiver, it’s stupid. Because most people with season tickets sit among other s/t holders…..so where does your ‘guest’ sit? On your knee?, or miles away, on their own?

Why would I want to move away from my brother and mate in a prime location in ES5 to sit in an inferior seat elsewhere in order to save another mate a few quid ????? :roll:

To be fair I think the original post subject has been worded wrongly. The point the guy is making is a valid one. If the club promises something then they should at least honour their promises. Otherwise dont promise anything ! Personally I think the dvd is sad and just gives rival fans more ammo to take the mick ! Its like the ” Twin Scarves ” you see lower league club fans wearing when they draw say Liverpool in the cup !! A mate of mine commented ” They will have a dvd out ” when we beat Chelsea and he wasnt far off the mark ! The old “top 4” league form reads Played 40 won 3 ! Nothing to shout about really, never mind bring out a dvd !

Im not demanding that the club give me these “offers” but they should at least follow them through if they do.
And just to make things worst, my 1st payment for my season ticket came out today, they took double what was meant to be charged! I was told it was a technical error and I will get a refund in 14 working days!!?? 14 days??? Why so long?? Also my 4 year old son isn’t allowed an under 5 season ticket this year even though his next birthday is May next year. Because he’s still classed as being 5 during the season? Ridiculous! Why promote and offer things and not follow through!
Well my little lad is 5 in April, and I’ve renewed his season ticket, no problem. If they had been so petty about a month of the season, I’d have told em where to shove mine as well.
I think the problem lies with the ticket office staff, who are just young girls doing a job for a crap wage, rather than the actual club.
Sorted next year, as I also have a younger child who will only be 2. So I can get him a ticket, which they can then ‘share’….. ;)
