dave whelan is bleedy our club dry not only that he slags ours crowds off i am very glad i did not get a season ticket i am sick ov this happening to wigan athletic he sells the best players and does not spend his money. i would like to see how much money he as took since january this season and what he spent upto now plus the money from the premier league i would say about 80mil roughly. our crowds are dropping rapidly and here it is to prove it http://www.tonykempster.co.uk/prematt.htm. i think if we would have said no to selling the players our club will attract bigger crowds. roberto martinez will be a good manager for wigan i hope but i think its a bit early for him to manage a premier league club but hope im wrong. but for dave whelan he needs to wake and think with getting loan players and needs to buy quality soon before its too late but he wont spend big. but i have had enough from now i will pick my games from now on,
26 August 2009 at 11:58 pm #6725The day that I’m bothered by the opinions of someone who spells “of” as “ov”, spells “he has” as “he as”, and doesn’t know that the first personal pronoun is written with a capital letter, is the day I give up my season ticket.
It’s also the day I’ll worry about what crowds we are getting. I’ll be there – I really don’t care if others want to come or not.
27 August 2009 at 1:38 am #6786Well said Mr Garswood. I’m with you. Lets clear this website of the riff raff.

I agree. However, I am getting very bored of things, all the politics surrounding the club, etc. And this coming from someone who saw the Kenyon effect, etc…..well, it’s a bit disconcerting, to say the least.
I’m just fed up of all the ‘ar-jarring’, moaning, and how the club does some things. Fact is, I don’t enjoy going to matches half as much as I did in the pre-Premiership days. And yet I know I should be really enjoying it. But I’m not. I was bored after the first 4 months of the first season.
This is NOT the league for Wigan Athletic, I’m afraid. The town does not offer enough support, and the club does not act big enough. Every player we go for, or are linked with, seems to be a Championship class player, or a foreigner we take a chance on. We still act, AND think, like a Championship club. I think that is our ideal level, to be honest.
Martinez clearly has his hands tied. That’s obvious, I think, with his comments on Sky about “Not having funds to spend”. I think this confirms what a lot of us feared.

LOOKED FOR A LINK, BUT CAN’T FIND ONE. I swear he was on Sky Sports.
Yeah, he was on at about 5 oclock tonight, basically saying he hasn’t got the funds of the other clubs, and has to be ‘clever’ with his signings, etc.
Load of crap. £22 million knocking about, somewhere………
Whelan is playing him like a puppet.
Everton-sell player for 23 million, day after spend 10 million on a promising Russian winger.
Wigan- sell TWO players for 22 million……and bring in a couple of championship players, and some untried foreigners, for a pittance.
THERE, is the difference, in us and other clubs.

27 August 2009 at 3:13 am #6887Like I’ve said, we shouldn’t be in the Premiership, if we don’t want to act like a Premiership club.
On one hand, people moan about lack of spending and ambition……..
on the other, people say we need to operate with caution to survive.
What on earth do people want? I don’t know. Think we’d be better off in the Championship, myself.
