you change like the wind
Maybe I’m an internet schitzophrenic?
No, I admit we are shite. I thought the reaction at, and after Wolves, was a disgrace. I think we were alright for an hour against United. But then collapsed like crazy.
I think the squad is in bad shape, with no leadership, and not much of a backbone. Too many on fat wages and easy street. My honest feeling is that we’ve done it on the cheap (again) but this year we’ll get found out, or at best finish 17th. In which case, what’s the point in raking in millions from player sales, if you don’t reinvest in some class?
27 August 2009 at 3:27 am #6894And if we get found out what happens then ?

27 August 2009 at 9:53 pm #7034Where is all the money going, Whelan’s pocket? A bit of transparency for once would be nice. How can Bobby be working on a shoestring budget ffs the television money is worth £30m a year
28 August 2009 at 12:14 am #7051ok im not the best speller but my 1st game was in 78 and been a season ticket holder from 89-90 season i have seen some shyte from chairmans and players and managers. but when you see what steve bruce as done for wigan and then to be ripped apart from him with selling his best players no wonder he as gone. bobby is a good manager people seen what he did at swansea and then he will come to wigan and his hands are tied with lack of funds he will be made a scapegoat they way things are going. loaned players and championship players what are not good enough. am glad i have not a season ticket this time because im sick of being ripped off from a greedy chairman whos interest is filling his own pocket. plus i like the way he says i have a dream of getting wigan into europe thats bollocks.

Under Bruce, we got a few lucky wins which got us safe and then we played the most turgid football I have ever seen and all he could say was “I think our lads are already on holiday”. He was right, but it was his job to fix it. Now Martinez is trying to get them back from the beach.
I remember Bruce saying “United and Chelsea play this 4-5-1 formation and I think it’s the way to go”. Yes Steve, but they played it with an attacking mentality, not a “let’s lump it up front to a fella running his nads off for nothing while everybody else drops back and tries to barricade us in for a draw” approach.
I’ve said already this pre-season that I would rather watch us lose 4-3 now and again than have mind-numbingly boring 0-0 draws every week.
I’m not particularly happy about losing 5-0 and 4-1 to Blackpool, but Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Sorry to pick on you, but yours was the first mindless post I came to tonight. It could have been any one from many, I guess.
4 September 2009 at 9:35 pm #8043I have nothing good to say
5 September 2009 at 12:32 pm #8086dave whelan is bleedy our club dry not only that he slags ours crowds off i am very glad i did not get a season ticket i am sick ov this happening to wigan athletic he sells the best players and does not spend his money. i would like to see how much money he as took since january this season and what he spent upto now plus the money from the premier league i would say about 80mil roughly. our crowds are dropping rapidly and here it is to prove it http://www.tonykempster.co.uk/prematt.htm. i think if we would have said no to selling the players our club will attract bigger crowds. roberto martinez will be a good manager for wigan i hope but i think its a bit early for him to manage a premier league club but hope im wrong. but for dave whelan he needs to wake and think with getting loan players and needs to buy quality soon before its too late but he wont spend big. but i have had enough from now i will pick my games from now on,How can you say “our” crowds are dropping, then come out with such dribble.Get behind the team you might find it a refreshing change.
