A point gained in view of the disallowed goal and I expected nothing.
The picture looks very different today with the teams below getting brilliant results away from home.
I felt we needed 10 points this month from this run of games and that now looks a very tall order.
That said we are only four points worse off than at the same stage last year which is surprising.It is surprising but considering we were meant to be pushing on from last season it’s quite alarming and with the injuries we had last season it makes matters worse.
A quality wing back and later midfielder plus a decent number ten where not replaced and this may be the crux of the problem.
At least every month more we keep Cook his contract is ticking down and the compensation cheque gets smaller.The plan was definitely to kick on but sadly the players we brought in haven’t worked out, Lowe has been poor as has Marshall, and players like Massey have dropped in their performance levels. Fox and Pilkington have never played, MacLeod got settled and then injured, Mulgrew left for whatever reason. Best laid plans and all that.
IF we stay up we need to be picking up more Championship established players but it’ll be tough on our budget.
