8 April 2010 at 2:50 am #28986ww are you having a laugh you was in a league were you was the only pro team. you got all these top players and it was like man utd playing in the northern prem.
you make out like every trophey we ever won was because we were a drilled team of athletes playing against a bunch of pub teams. all the big teams were made up of mostly professional players back then, we were just big enough and organised enough to go fully pro before the rest. leeds were spending just as much money as us and went full time not long after us i think, saints weren’t that far behind either. did you expect us to limit our spending so that everyone else could keep up? dont be daft lad

8 April 2010 at 3:32 am #29007Maurice Lindsay came to Wigan in the early 1980s to join directors Jack Robinson, Tom Rathbone and David Bradshaw. Wigan became one of the first teams to go full-time professional in the league, this led to an upsurge in the fortunes of the club.
man utd v matlock town???????????? anyone
8 April 2010 at 12:09 pm #29022I’m not entirely sure of the current legal position but heard ownership was being transferred to Latics from Whelco and the rugby club would be tenants. I’m all for debate and freedom of speech but I really wish the worms at the RL forum would give us a right of reply, but there appears to be no sign. I’m not even suggesting rude and obnoxious postings should be allowed but at least some reply on their forum.
I don’t even hate the sport just Wigan RL, I always wish Saints and the GB team well, I just wish they’d curl up and die. Maybe Rugby Union would fill the void if there’s a demand for another truly national sport.
How deluded are these clowns? If Whelan gives Latics the ownership of the DW
Now I thought it was a “Done Deal”. By using the word “If”, you suggest that the ownership of the stadium may not be as clear cut.
So are you saying the football club still do not own the stadium?
If thats the case and the stadium is still in the ownership of Whelco (aka Mr D Whelan), then I would ask exactly who is the deluded clown. You’ve got feck all to crow about – you are tenants too.
Now run along and book your West Ham ticket – with free travel they should shift 1500 quick![/quote]

* Ps if you are on a wind up and a ‘brick’ regular multiposter then well done you got me.
