I’m really interested in seeing in what other Latics fans think.
For me it’s not the sport which is quite a spectacle, nor the club itself but their fans, which includes the local labourite council, local ass licking media and the police.
In other words they’re the ultimate establishment club and I loath their glory hunting, arrogant fans who were against us just because we had the audacity to have another professional sports club in ‘their’ town. The same nob heads who loath the English rugby union team (who have won a world cup in the aussies back yard) and dismiss them as ‘henry’s’ with their outdated inverse snobbery. The same set of khunts who want to wave big flags and make no secret of their support (do any of them actually go) of Liverpool, Utd and Bolton just out of spite. The same tosseurs who come on here having their say but banning people who go on rlfans.com. The same ten bob millionaire crappy directors like Rathbone, Robinson , Hilton and Lindsay who prevented us from moving to an ideal central location in a rejuvenated Central Park which may well have made us a one town two sports club. The same corrupt labourite mp’s from jockland or down south who jump on their bandwagon forgetting half the town hate them. I’m looking forward to seeing who the successful southern middle class slut who’s from labour’s women only shortlist is and how long it takes her to be photographed at a Warriors game.
Even some of my friends support the warriors and when I sneer they say “ooh we should be all one town like Leeds and Hull”. Yeah well its impossible here. I really wish Dave Whelan had just let them go to the wall and saved Orrell RUFC instead.

wigans mp comes from carlisle originally and lived on park road in wigan for over 20 years before he became an mp and always went to watch the rugby so hardly a bandwagon jumper.
and do you think party policy gets in the way of any photo oportunity.
What makes you think I hate the Labour Party? Also if he was impartial why didn’t the corrupt pocket lining worm support the tics as well?. Even we seem to have a lot of people who vote for that filth.

i think that the above statements gave it away.
He was just blowing smoke up their ring piece. Outsiders like him and that horrible Jock McCartney tend to make a beeline for the Warriors. The mayor and council have always supported them and wallowed in photo opportunities whilst being openly hostile towards us. Although Lord Haw Haw Smith has recently acknowledged our nationwide profile has brought some positive publicity to the borough.
The proof being the council leaning on the police to mess things up for us and imposing ridiculous safety notices on us at Springfeld Park.
However, yep you’re right the remark about not hating the Labour Party was tongue in cheek.

There is a couple of ways of looking at this, and this is mine.
I don’t hate Wigan Warriors, sweeping statement I know but I don’t. I really haven’t ever got into the game, I don’t get it, but that isn’t to say I hate it or that I don’t think it should exist.
I DO hate Maurice Lindsay, Jack Robinson and Co for their systematic attempts to annihilate Wigan Athletic, the council for their total disregard for anything Wigan Athletic and the media for their total ignorance towards their football team. I hated the fact at the time that the supporters of WRLFC looked down on us, but at no time did they go out of their way to drive us out of existence like the afore mentioned did.

These days there is no reason for new supporters of Wigan Athletic to HATE the Rugby. I for one don’t see the appeal in the support, that is genuine, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want them to succeed and place the town of Wigan even further on the Map as it were.
Supporters of Wigan Warriors only show malice towards us now because of the attitude we give them, plus the fact that they are now not the only flagship of Wigan anymore, they now have to share the limelight with that little club that was just getting by just 10 years ago. Call it jealousy, call it resentment, either way it is pathetic.
In short, there is no need for fans of Wigan Athletic to ‘hate’ Wigan Warriors, just like there is no reason for Warriors fans to hate Latics fans. It is just a minority of ‘live in the past’ knuckledraggers and youths who listen to these people who think this way (on both sides of the fence).
If they stopped and thought for one second, they would realise that the reasons that we as Latics fans for hating the Rugby League side died about ten years ago and they might just let it go, but I won’t hold my breath.

I will always hate the T.wats no matter what.
That said, since our meteoric rise to become the number one sporting club in the town, they have paled into insignificance.
They may well still be the main club within their sport, but what does that mean really, when so few people have an interest in the game.
Wigan Athletic are part of a sport that is watched globally by billions, nationally by millions, and locally by hundreds of thousands of people.
More people watch football in a twenty five mile radius of Wigan than watch RL globally.
To be honest we may as well hate a local darts and dominos club as that is what they are equivalent to in real terms.
I personally have no interest in the game, and have never even watched a game on TV.
Whenever I have seen glimpses of it, it appears to be a chaotic brawl, with fat blokes occaisionally running over a line with a squashed football in their hands. Hardly skillful running over a line and then chucking yourself on the floor is it?
Each to their own though I suppose.
If the chubbs would get out of our ground, and their fans off our site, and leave us alone to watch our prima donna girlies play our game, the I think we would leave them alone to watch their thick fat thugs play their ‘sport’.Never forget.
