Interesting thread this where we all share a few common misgivings. Some are concerned about the quality of players that we have to hold onto our premiership status, some think we lack a little bit of leadership on the field and others feel that our coaching staff may be a little ‘lacklustre’……………….how about some radical thought.
We have all openly discussed the above but has anyone given any thought to what Stoke are doing at present – never mind bringing in more playing staff how about appointing ‘Peter Reid’ as Roberto’s No2 (when I say Peter Reid it may not necessarily be him but another fairly high profile guy who has experience at this level………..Carlos Quieoz (sp) at ManU did it, Ray Wilkins at Chelsea does it etc).
Mr W could make the call and hijack the stokies deal……Reid is a Northerner, wouldn’t cost that much and if he left after a year then hey….Roberto’s just tucked a first year in the prem under his belt and loads of experience with it. It would give us that second look at the team mid-game when Roberto’s ‘flair style’ may not be working and plan B needs to be put in place.
Just a thought like………………………
