      Before my time but in the early sixties they played in the same league as Latics.Anyone know the `derby` results and attendances?

      I remember playing against Wigan Rovers in the eighties when they played in the West Lancs League.Shame it all went titsup.

        According to my records they’ve never been in the same league.

        In 1959-61 Rovers were in teh Cheshire League while Latics were in the Lancashire Combination. In 1961 Latics moved to the Cheshire League while Rovers moved to the Lancashire Combination.

        Have met three times competitively:

        1959/60 Liverpool Non-league Senior Cup
        Wigan Athletic 4 Wigan Rovers 1

        1963/64 Lancs Junior Cup
        Wigan Athletic 7 Wigan Rovers 0

            Really have to admit defeat on how many was on.

            However scorers in the 4-0 were Higham hat trick and McDermott
            4-2 were Twiddle (2), Fielding and Taberner, and
            7-0 were Murdoch 3, Morgans 2, Edmunson and Sleight.

            I’ll try to do better in the future :cheer:
