Collecting on behalf of my son (honest :geek: ) and have just got Steven Pienaar for the 4th time. Methinks he could be the equivalent of Oleg Blokhin from Espana 82
Anyone wanna swap?
General observations are:
1) The stickers don’t smell like they used to when I was a lad (probably the removal of those dangerous chemicals)
2) It appears to be much harder to get the grounds now
3) The world cup has to be collected twice…robbing gits!12 May 2010 at 7:46 pm #33108How good is the wall planner that came with it. :D
12 May 2010 at 8:13 pm #33113What sort of price are these things these days?
Other than worringly decalring himself to be a Chelsea fan (“because they always win”) my 5-year old is showing very little interest in football. I thought this might be a subliminal way of getting him into it.
12 May 2010 at 9:31 pm #33124Forget all that subliminal rubbish, a slap usually works :D
12 May 2010 at 9:32 pm #33125You can collect them online, virtually, on the Official FIFA World Cup site. Call me a child but its actually quite good, and free.
12 May 2010 at 10:27 pm #33139… and free.I like that bit, cheers :)
13 May 2010 at 4:13 pm #33283What sort of price are these things these days?50p a pack, 5 stickers a pack and 638 to collect so do the maths (and that is excluding the swap ratio)! I’m not expecting to complete it but sssh, I’m not telling him that.
The online one looks ok but it’s like downloads v vinyl…you can beat the feel of getting the purchase home, ripping off the wrapping and sticking them in the book!

I doubt “the feel of getting the purchase home, ripping off the wrapping and sticking them in the book” is worth the hundreds youd be spending to complete it though.

Just to clarify, it was Ashtic who said that, not me. I tend to agree with you 1932.
13 May 2010 at 4:54 pm #33289I’m with Ashtic. Virtual stickers will never be a substitute for real ones, sod the cost.
If Steven Pienaar is the equivalent of 82’s Oleg Blokhin, then Oleg Blokhin was the equivalent Panini’s Euro Football ’76’s Dudu Georgescu. Had him loads of times……
