How would you define worse ever result. I agree losing a playoff final changed my view on football more than a cr*ppy fa cup game did.
Why does anything have to be “worst ever” or “best ever” even?
Results are either good (at the time) or bad (at the time). Or even in retrospect.
Losing 3-1 to Man United years ago seemed nothing more than expected. But in retrospect the penalty by Baines affected our goal difference which helped keep us up.
Drawing against someone when we should have won could have disastrous effects later.
What I do know is that being the losing party to a “Cup shock” is a long way from being our worst result ever.
Look how far we have come to become on the rough end of a cup shock…
I agree, i bought a couple of the national papers on monday, and we were center spread in both of them. With a mention on the front and back pages too. Not for all the right reasons mind but it shows what a shock it was!
read that a few days ago, tickled me…..you get some pretty funny spoof stories on there. They did one about burnley fans a while back, and may have referred to the hills have eyes, they weren’t impressed :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
