If its right he is from Huddersfield, I sincerely hope the club kick up a fuss about it…a bloody massive fuss, because thats dodgy in the extreme.

Just because he’s from a neighbouring town doesn’t mean that he would favour Leeds.
Huddersfield and Leeds are rivals: would you expect a ref from Preston or Bolton to favour us?
He was just out of his depth, and lost the plot. Nothing more sinister.
Sorry but I cant agree.

How big is this country? And they had to have a referee from Huddersfield, officiating a game involving Leeds? Its the next town! Someone said that hos brother was/is a referee and wasnt/isnt allowed to officiate huddersfield, leeds, or Bradford matches. If thats right, our club needs to say something.

If its true, it stinks.
A wind up surely?

The ref was from Huddersfield and his brother is Bobby Madeley a PL referee.
Bobby is a self confessed Huddersfield Town fan, his brother (yesterdays ref) doesn’t claim to support any particular team. I am not convinced he is being truthful after yesterdays performance, but its done now and we move on to Boro.

Doesn’t matter whatsoever who the ref is really. Young daft lad out of he depth gets sent off for petulance costs us the game.
Nowt really done in close season to strengthen the defence from set pieces apart from one Rovers didn’t want
Nobody brought in to replace James.
No player in the squad that can play the Powell role.
Signed a big striker but play him on his own with no players to play off.
Hope we can match last season but after such a long elongated and stretched out pre-season it will be a big ask to get near last seasons position.

I take all your points, GL, etc.

Watch the highlights and the sending off again. Looks as if he wasnt going to do anything, until Williams turns around and he remembers he has already booked him. Can see with his body language. That said, Williams foot WAS very raised.

But I still think its crazy having a referee from Huddersfield, refereeing Saturdays game with Leeds. Bad deligating of referee, that by the FA. As it would be if the referee had been from somewhere near Wigan.
Surely they couldve given it to someone from Staffordshire, or somewhere like that? But anyway, its done and dusted now. Drawing a line under Saturday now because nothing good came out of it.

Even for you this is a mind baffling over reaction.

Maybe he took his time because he knew he had already booked him and wanted to be absolutely sure it warranted at least a second yellow. There could have been no arguments had it been a straight red so perhaps he was being too lenient.

As for your accusation he was bias because he comes from a town near Leeds is just too ridiculous to present any kind of rebuttal.

I’ve no problem him being from Yorkshire or where ever, all I ask is they treat both teams on a par and that idiot definitely had white tinted glasses on with out a doubt a hell of a lot of their players should have been shown a yellow, I’ve no problem with William’s second yellow he deserved it and if their player was booked leading up to it which he should have perhaps William’s doesn’t be such a dick. Jedi was very lucky with his hand ball and must have used the force not to get a penalty against himself, Morsy thought he was playing thugby at times and Moore should have had 1 pen or even two but the ref definitely caused the problems.

What an absolute tit you really are.

Ffs, I really do give up now.

Arguing with me for arguments sake.

Fuck off.

Dave’s statement to him says what I think most, if not all (Tyldesley back me up on this) match officials think.
“Call me incompetent. That’s fine. You’re probably right.
Call me a cheat, then you are off. I do not cheat. I do not favour one team over the other. I do this unthankful job because I love the game, not to give one team or other an advantage.
I may get things wrong. In fact I do get things wrong. Frequently. And it worries me. But that’s my failing, not a deliberate act.
Never ever ever call me a cheat”

Spot on. I’ve known some good refs and I’ve known some shit ones but I’ve never met one who has cheated
I used to get accused of being biased virtually every week by someone in the crowd and I sent players off for saying it. I never cheated – I got things right or wrong simple as. Some times I had great games and other times I had stinkers
If I reffed Wigan tomorrow I’ve no doubt some Latics fans would accuse me of being biased against them

Absolutely agree and I would go a step further and scrap VAR (Now that is real cheating) and revert to the man in the middle being in sole control. Refs like players have bad games but it has been that way for ever and it’s one of the ingredients that has made the sport easily the best on the planet.
