Compared to the rest of the division, no it’s not a particularly brilliant squad. Why do people think we are at the bottom of the league?

As for Bobby saying something contradictory, I suppose Mighty and LMB think he should have said “well of course we got beat 4-0, I have a bunch of w@nkers at my disposal and I’m a useless c***, too”

Griff – i would have fully accepted that statement if Bobby had made it. It is a fair reflection of his tenure. You see, the whole point of playing in a league (this one, or any other one to be fair) is to attempt to win it. I.e. to finish at the ‘top of the league’ as they say. The epitomy of failure in any league is to be at the bottom, something Bobby has managed to steer us to. Fair play to bobble head on his optimism though, or sheer lunacy, but either way, to be happy to be coming 20th out of 20th in any race clearly shows that the person in charge, and his team are not up to it. The league table does not lie.[/quote]

Hogwash…… the league only tells the tale of the season at the end. If because we are 20th means we have finished our season, what happens at the start of the season without a game been played, we arealways in the bottom 3….

    truth hurts sometimes griff !

Don’t be ridiculous, the truth doesn’t come into it.

Nobody agrees 100% with what Bobby said in that quote said an Mighty Aff knows it. He might even call it a rhetorical question if only he could spell it. ;)

My point was that he can’t be expected to slag his players off in public, therefore for he bigs them up.

It’s called motivation, but I wouldn’t expect you two miserable gets to respond to any kind of positive motivation anyway :P

that must explain the reason we blow sides away in the second half of games then. :liar:

You might have a point there, but we aren’t talking half-time team talks are we, we are talking about public statements to the press?

the squad is really, really strong and we’ve got very good options – a lot of competition, it’s very good.

Would that be the same competiton that dared to put their shirts on against Bolton in the cup replay !!

True, the table only matters at the end of the season. I agree, although i fully believe that we will remain at the bottom until then.

And i accept the correction on spelling. I will attempt to improve on it.

You see, you have pointed out something here and i have agreed on one point, and will improve on the other. Mr Roberto Martinez however makes no attempt to change things, and blindly perseveres with the same formation week in week out. We are bottom of the league. Unfortunately for our glorious best young manager in europe, you dont pick up points in this league for % passes completed or Gary Caldwell backward / sideways passes. The sooner he figures its a results orientated league the better.

Oh good, a sensible debating point*

The reluctance to change formation and tactics is indeed the most frustrating thing about Bobby. Now that man is not thick, so why does he persist? I can only assume it is because he thinks the best way to go about achieving results is to play that way and changing it to something else would be even worse.

I don’t know if it would and neither will anyone else until he gives it a go and tries it. Frustrating, I agree.

        * apart from the little sarcastic “best young manager in europe” jibe, but you’re getting there ;)
