Lets get real boys and girls, its the first game FFS.
Like I said in another post, this time last year we had just beaten Villa and quite easy at that. We then went on to fight out a relegation battle and villa went on to fight out a CL spot. I wonder if the villa fans were talking like you set of tworts are?. :x

Don’t get me wrong, that was utter shyte today, but 3 pish poor goal keeping errors coupled with some poor finishing early on, against a team steaming from last season and bulging with passion, has cost us dearly.

Some of you lot are not worth a fekin jert in my books!!

      From Matlock to ManU
      What a journey!

How times change. People on here were glad when Blackpool asked for the game to be switched. The reasons, they have just been promoted, they’ll be fired up, they are at home blah blah blah. What changed, other than the location? Most people on here knew it was gonna be a difficult game. Ok no one predicted that we would capitualte quite so easily. Let’s just see how the next few weeks go (I mean after the Spurs & Chelsea games.) before calling for his head. If it’s any consolation WHU where even worse than us today.

        O’Neil or Curbishley ?

          #42434

I have to admit, I’m shellshocked after that.

I went into the game full of confidence, after being impressed overall, with what I saw in the Zaragoza friendly. Oh how 90 minutes can change an opinion….. (45, if I’m honest)

It was the way we were beaten, that really shocked me. Our lads looked so ‘off the pace’ it was frightening. And the body language? Shocking. Even at 3-0, there was no urgency about the team, and I do wonder how fit they actually are. (I believe Bramble has cited poor training methods as a reason for leaving)

As I write this, I am stunned. If I had a cat it would be getting volleyed around the house, tonight. I don’t wish to start saying sack him, or this that and the other. People can judge for themselves after today’s abysmal display. However I always prefer a manager to be ‘kicking buckets’ when his team are playing awful, and showing emotion, rather than stood there, arms folded, looking on pensively.

I honestly feel though, that our chairman won’t stomach much more of that, this season.

TYLDSLEY- I’m not changing like the wind, I’m only going of what I have seen. I was confident after what I saw against Zaragoza. But it’s safe to say that today’s showing has really questioned my faith.

                Very, very worrying.

But before we go sacking the manager, I would be having serious words with our goalkeeper and left-back first. Shocking perfomances from the pair of them.

Lask of creativity, lack of plan B were to blame… as usual.

0-0 would have been the right result. Cannot believe we gifted them 4 goals and we wouldn’t have scored if we were still playing now.

I felt sorry for Boselli – it’s clear that he’s not lone striker material, and there was no support coming in for him when he was trying to create something.

Figueroa did himself no favours – Liverpool won’t want to buy a player that seems to have completely forgotten how to defend, or even look like he can be bothered to play.

Can we have more attitudes like Stam’s? I’ve only seen him play 20 minutes and he’s shown me that he has a desire to actually play and make something happen.

Martinez is a rookie, you can see he is clever but this is a new territory for him. He’s never played top flight football, he’s never been a top flight coach or never managed a top flight team before.

He say’s he wants to sign a few more players but he should just forget that. He’s unlikely to get anyone good now the odds are even greater for us to go down.

We should spend some money on some new 1st team coaches too, people who know something about tactics. I also think we should dig in, defend well and counter teams. Its pointless playing a passing game when that’s not our strength.

Seriously, I’d get Figueroa sold…..if we can still get someone to take him.

Fire him and Insomnia off. Parasites.

He’s still green but he’s not exactly a rookie any more ;-) . I think a lot of the feeling around here at the moment is that it feels like there has been no learning process – conceding four goals in the way we did today suggests that absolutely nothing has changed from last season, and considering the teams we have coming up they have to improve fast.

The backroom staff are terrible compared to when Bruce was here. Kirkland is nowhere near the same as when Nigel Spink was coaching him. Who have we got now? Some fat Spaniard that I’ve never heard of. Lovely.

I can see why it’s good as a manager to try and keep the same backroom staff wherever you move, but we needed experience last season, and even more so now.
