Sent by a lad who seems to live in Sheffield, but has been identified as attending Liverpool Uni. Has Man U stuff on his profile (or at least did until he has now deleted his account – a bit late).
General view is that our last minute goal ruined an accumulator for him.
I suspect his life is now ruined as no Uni or employer will toleraete that, and the club have handed it over to the police.

No exxcuse in the slightest, but it shows the danger of social media. Once he would have just spouted off to his mates and no-one would have been the wiser. But now for some reason he feels empowered to reach out directly to the player and post that.

Hopefully he is found and the book is thrown at him.
This behaviour is totally unacceptable and I hope Nathan and his family aren’t too affected by this disgusting individual.

I may say something that many won’t like here, though what’s new, before we start being horrified at what this piece of sh1t has done we need to look at our own and call it out and fight it when ever scum like this raise their heads.

Both myself and wife have been physically threatened and ridiculed at away games by our own fans because we have dared to challenge those who think racist chants are acceptable, when you look round you see smirks of laughter or people avoiding your gaze with a don’t involve me look.

Until we all stand up and challenge racism in all forms not just when it’s a footballer or someone famous who is the victim, it will not stop.

ps Can I add that some of those racists rants have been aimed at our own players because they were having a bad game or just not up to it.

LMB is spot on and not be honest Cup Winners it’s irrelevant whether any of it was aimed at our own players. Racism is racism whoever it’s aimed at – and I’ve heard masses of people chanting “Town full of P###’s” on visits to Bolton and Oldham. I’ve had arguments with people at half time at QPR who’ve spent the entire 1st half hurling out racist abuse to players & stewards. I’ve been on a Latics coach going to Barnsley with people chanting “Ain’t no black in the Union Jack” & when challenged about the black players in our own team we’re told “They’re alright coz they’re our own”

All from a minority but it does happen and to claim otherwise is burying your head in the sand

Yes I have heard racist chants and yes it needs to be 100% stamped out for sure so for your remark on bury my head in the sand ? your talking sh1te.

I think that the referee has as much a part to play in it as any of the players to be honest. I only experienced it once when refereeing when one team’s manager came on to the pitch & called his players off for some comments that he claimed had been made. This was more NWCFL level (but not the NWCFL) as opposed to grassroots – I told him that he could do that if he wanted but as I hadn’t heard anything & no-one else had complained that I would have to put that in my report. He didn’t end up taking his players off & the other team were livid about the accusations

At park level any decision to abandon the game for whatever reason is putting yourself (the ref) at risk. If it was racist abuse from a player I’d send him off. if it was racist abuse from the crowd I’d get both captains & the management together & explain what I’d heard & that if it carried on I’d abandon the game so hopefully they’d deal with it – that would make it less likely to cause chaos as opposed to just stopping the game & walking off
