Considering 5,400 or there or there abouts were away fans, that is god awful. I’ll be surprised if Whelan doesn’t pass comment on it. And if you consider that a few local Everton fans will have been in our ends as well (and I know a load were in the executive boxes too), it makes it even worse.
The South Stand is abysmal. What can be done? More tickets to schools, local teams, etc? I thought we already did all of that?
Then again, have all the hangers on and “JCL’s” who jumped on our rise to the Premiership, jumped ship? If you say that we had 11,000 home fans are, I think it’s close to what we had as the ‘core’ support, prior to that Reading promotion game, in May 2005.
Maybe it’s all about quality, rather than quantity? But still, I had suggested to Everton fans that we’d have “20-21,000 on”. To fall 4/5000 short of that is rather alarming.
Can I suggest we all REMEMBER this, when we get to the point where things are rosy again, and Roberto is leading us into Europe. When all and sundry are coming out all ‘Billy Big Bollx’ and we suddenly attract a crowd of 24,000 against Atletico Madrid, let’s not forget the fickleness of these people who have decided to ‘jib out’ as soon things got a bit tough.
Or dare I say a fare few preferred to spend the afternoon with ‘Max The Warrior’ at their publicity event in the Grand Arcade. I was in town before the game, and I’ve never seen as many pig-ugly women dressed as used tampon’s in a LONG time. It was like a re-union of the cast of Prisoner Cell Block H. I can also tell you now, that the rugby lot are LOVING us having a hard time at the moment. The lad who IS Max, is someone I’ve known for years. He is from Skem and is a so-called Everton fan. (He was, he’s now all rugby, truth be told) He was gloating like mad this morning on Facebook, to which I told him, in all seriousness, to ‘F*** off’. Last time I did that, he un-linked me. T*t.
I hate both Everton & The Worriers with equality now, you know? Yep. I am so pleased that I support Latics, a club who don’t have to compete with another club of the same sport. And constantly fail.
But as for the rugby lot? Be warned, they are LOVING it. Scum. Whelan can f*ck right off with his ‘one town, two teams’ theory. It will never happen in the memory of man.
there was 4500 everton thats the allocation they got the stand only holds 5000. They should not be charging £28 pound for cheapest adult ticket if they want people from Wigan to start going more often

They will never fill the Family stand (south stand) as long as they let kids in the rest of the stadium. There were more kids/families in the East than in the South yesterday.
Just to point out that they were the quietest fans to come to the jjb they only sang when they scored. More noise came from Fulham and they only brought about 200.

Nail on head there mate.
£28/£30 is far too much for a lot of people to pay.
I am fortunate to have a season ticket, if I didn’t, there would no way I could afford to pay £28/£30 for a run of the mill league match.

Bloody hell didnt actually realise it was that much for a one off ticket – again i have a season ticket. Thats price is pretty shocking.
I agree that £28 is a lot for a ticket, however its probably no dearer than most clubs outside the big city clubs (not saying that makes it right), but at £250-£300 for a ST you do think we’d get more on.
I’m sure years ago the question was asked “does Wigan want professional football in its town”, maybe its time to ask “do some people in Wigan want/deserve the chance to watch Premier League football”.
Not a dig that those that make it.
Oh and as for the eggchasers loving us struggling, they have looked at their own side lately I presume, werent we a third divison club last time they won a trophy?
ime embaressed by that attendance yesterday, were basically a non league side in the premership.goin by that tues attendance should comfortably b under 5,000,que national press, ssn slauter again, hope ime wrong but cant c it
Not being one to join the Grammer Police but i’d like to exclaim “what the fook. any chance of that again in English ?” in response to that last post. ;)
