I don’t think the zonal defending system helps, never understood why managers use it. Other than not having a centre half shouting at them every day, I really don’t know what’s the excuse for some of our defending.We can criticize Martinez all we want, but no one can tell me that he coaches an Austrian intnernational, an ex Dutch international and an ex U21 interntional to make the basic errors those 3 made yesterday….with that and other appalling pieces of defending this season, I think its time our back 4 took long looks at themselves and questioned what they have been doing for the majority of the season.
Some defenders have bags of skill and abillaty to take players on .there is allways the risk you can get caught out.Mario a few years ago could do it for fun. face it none of us get any younger but if the players dont get told or boll-ck when they mess up there gona do it all the time.thats why you need a caldwell in your team to steady them there not getting it off the sidelines when they should. thats what a manager and coach is for in it ?

oh ffs. look, i was pi55ed off after today, the goals we conceded would not have even been made by schoolboys, but we were told at the start of this season that it was all about survival & if we can do that, the aim was to push on from next season.i disagree with martinez being labelled as clueless. yes, he might be tactically naive at times, but he is still learning at premiership level. next season is the time to judge, & if we are in a similar position again next season – then act.
everyone is entitled to their opinions, but why can’t we just get behind the team. there are 5 big games coming up & the lads need our support. :D

Im no jcl, but this season as been a total disaster, martinez as let everyone down with his boring style of play and hs tactics, and hand on heart if he hadnt played for us, how many super fans would still want him here, im no super fan but i have been watching the latics for a while now, and martinez aint good for the club, he was a great player for us, as was jones and barrow, but to still be in charge is a disgrace.Lets be honest. ive seen us play worse than today?but scharner is a ballooon of the highest order.mario before boyce.i dont know but one thing for sure the table doesnt lie.people keep going on about points of Pompey and HULL. them 2 games are not easy points.All our remainding games should be like cup finals not a stroll in the park.some managers would have took scharner off today and he wouldnt kick a ball for the club again.but it is about team effort. has our boys got what it takes bottle and plenty of backbone aswell as our good leader only time will tell ?Tommy Gore knows the score.Morris lindsey should have been Hung :roll: :roll: :roll:
