Not 100% sure, but isn’t he the son of Phil and nephew of Mick. AKA Micron Electrics?

You are correct Mr Arky. Shame for lad as he been doing really well this season.

in reply to: Chelsea sold out?! #31757
There’s no way we’d normally sell out 1,400 tickets just like that. Definitely something fishy about it.

Just looking at the NPL final tables during the mid seventies suggests we dipped the couple of seasons before election to the league and finished second the year we got elected.

Other names that evoke great memories:

South Liverpool
Goole Town
Buxton

Big games were always against the likes of Stafford Rangers, Boston United, Altrincham and Scarborough.

One of the reasons I’m trying to get info is to nail my first game. I thought it was Autumn 1971 against Runcorn, a 3-1 win, but it must have been Autumn 1970 as I went to Maine Road in 1971. I’ll find it sooner or later.

Friday 28th August 1970 Wigan Ath v Runcorn. Latics won 3-1 and it was a 7.30 ko.Hope that helps you !
Beltin’ that mate, thank you ;)

I remember it being a night match but would have guessed at Wednesday rather than Friday.

Thanks to Garswood too, for the links ;)
Just dug the programme out and it has match details written inside it ,but cant confirm they correct. Fleming scored all 3 Latics goals and Lace got Runcorns. Sutherland got sent off for Latics and Glover for Runcorn. But i am sure you remember that ;)

Think i have some footage on video somewhere. It prob only 20 or 30 seconds long and has Citys goal on it. might take some finding tho due to several moves over last few years ;) .Also seem to remember the old supporters club having a night when they showed all the game but that was Springfield park days.
