Easy, win the remaining games.
This.
Some folk come on here now happy when we lose, some happy when we win, some never happy, some always happy. I would suggest we temper our thoughts a little with a dose of composite reality instead of ranting on about our little club.Ask yourself this – do you want to have £60 million in the bank but have less than £5k? So you go on the FT website ranting and demanding change?
Do you want to be married to Kiera Knightley with Cheryl Cole as a bit on the side? So you rant on to the mrs Facebook page about how you want it to happen?
Do you want a job that enables you to live in an eight bed mansion with pool, with Ferrari and Porsche in the garage but live in a three bed semi and drive a ford focus? So you go on Total jobs website ranting about how it’s not going to happen?
Do you want Wigan athletic to finish second in the premier league, signing £15m players, getting to the quarter finals of the champions league, But you actually support your home town club regardless of what the future holds? So you go on a fans website ranting about it.
In all of the above, I bet you only do the last one despite wanting all four. Get a little reality in your heads. We are Wigan fans. Not Man Utd fans from dartford /Oslo / Hong Kong. They are trying, failing at times I agree, but still trying. If you considered everything else in your life as you consider Wigan athletic you would have a breakdown. It could always be worse. So what we drew with Southampton? Could be worse, could be better. Ranting ain’t gonna change it. It’s becoming an obsession for some.
Yeah, this warranted a thread.
The press making up transfer stories with little foundation? Is that what you are suggesting? Surely not.
Broke the bank again. Why wont they come, money or martinez?
No, it’s not Martinez my friend. It is you and your ilk who have attached yourself to the wrong football club. You belong at Old Trafford with all the other shallow people who have difficulty coping with reality. Reality is about pain and pleasure, if you can’t take the pain then go to Manchester where there is a lot less of it.
Wigan Athletic was built and kept afloat by people who got off their backsides and did something instead of constantly bleating. We will continue to be the least fashionable club in the Premier League for the forseeable future (or as long as we stay there).
In years to come things may be different, and if they are, it will be down to the foundations that are presently being laid by David Whelan and Roberto Martinez.
We are Wigan – get used to it or join the pathetic band-waggoners at Old Trafford.
Glad to be of service………good job i’m on this board, otherwise what would you do without me eh ;) ;) ;) ;)
Cracking stadiums to be fair.
If we slip up tomorrow, I think we are as good as down. Why? I will tell you why…..We currently have 20 points. Our points per game average is 0.83.
We will probably need 40 points to ensure survival. If not 40, it’ll be close.
For us to get another 20 points from the remaining games, it will mean we have to improve our points per game average to 1.43 points a game over the season.
That’s some improvement.
We also have games to come away at QPR and Reading. I look at our remaining games and I see mostly draws and defeats. Therefore I see it as critical that we take 3 points tomorrow. Our run in this season is against scrappier teams than last season, and the games are fast running out.
At 5pm on Saturday night, I think we will have a better idea of if we will stay up or not.
i didn’t read any of this shit except the last paragraph for a conclusion which states the bleeding obvious. Try harder.
Wigan Athletic’s fifth round FA Cup match against either Huddersfield Town or Leicester City will be played on Sunday 17 February at 3.55pm, the game will be screened live on ITV.
Latics will find out who their opponents will be on Tuesday 12th February when the fourth round replay takes place at the John Smiths Stadium in Huddersfield.
Wigan Athletic will release ticket information for this fixture in due course.
Let’s just hope we don’t let ourselves down!
Yeah!
According to Alan Nixon Wigan Athletic are very close to a big signing. No reports on who that is but Alan Nixon is right 95% of the time so only time will tell…Edited above to show respect to our club.
No.
Parrots.
No – sorry, my pet hate is other teams being called by some witty pun that has seen much better days:
Wet Spam, Sjoke, Nob End, Robberpool, Spuds, Manure, Man Shitty, Chelski, and so on, including Worriers.
Really annoys me.
Thank you for listening.
My pet hates: Southerners, Daily Mail and people that describe themselves as ‘wacky’ and/or ‘random’
You’re my least favourite poster I think :P :)
I quite like you Jimmy :(
It’s just your display picture Can of Bitter.. Spooks me out :(
Be in awe of the Score.
I read last night that he has left his club in Turkey, due to their financial problems and they have agreed to release him after not paying him for 2 months. He’s 29 and available on a FREE.
Now, I know the problems we had with him last time, but if we could just get his head right and offer him the opportunity to come and play for a contract/put himself in the shop window, it’s a no brainer for me. Fitness pending, of course, as he has had a few problems since being with us.
I just think if we could get him firing on all cylinders we could have a cracking striker on our hands. And for free.
Perhaps offer him a contract til the end of season? He has stated his desire to come back to England, and as we seem to look for freebies and cheap options, I think he would be worth a punt.
If you’re joking: lol very funny you big silly billy.
If you’re not joking: you’re fucking out of your mind, soft lad.
Christian Benitez due to be joining us!Great signing if true.
Parrots.
