Personally, I think it is good news. He is a good squad player and has generally done a good job for us, stepping in all across the back four. His goal at liverpool was handy too :P
I think that Griff has hit the nail on the head when he talks about looking at the bigger picture.
I must admit to being very unsure about Martinez up until Christmas, but I can see what he is trying to achieve, at a club, which we all know is punching well above its weight.
The Youth Team have had a good season, the reserves an excellent one. It is clear that he favours a youth policy and surely this will stand us in good stead.
The first team have gradually bought into his style of play, and we have been harder to beat of late, overall.
He has made mistakes but he is still learning, and i think he should be given more time (even if relegated) to complete his plans. He seems to have the respect of the players now(even Rodellega and Zogs who are both sure to leave in the summer) and they have all bought into his style of play. Its been a long journey but we might just escape this year.
I am sure we will kick on next year, so lets get behind one of the best young managers in the game, who loves WAFC and never slags the fans off(unlike PJ)
Come on Wigan
Agreed Griff.
Did anyone read the Daily Mail today. the reporters “magic moment of the match” was Adam`s “audacious lob that nearly caught out Al Habsi” !!!!!!
Oh yeah- the one that Ali chested down whilst doing a crossword !!!
Emporers clothers is dead right.
Ha Ha.
We saw him. he wanted £20 to look after his dog whilst he went in to watch the match.
Also said he was from Pemberton.A tramp, from Pemberton- unlikely :o
Don`t hold your breath on that one !
Just listening to Talksport and never got a mention.
All they could talk about was how Wolves could climb out of the relegation zone if they win their game in hand.
No praise for us, as usual with the media.
Never mind – We r wigan and we do what we want
Sunderland- Win
Everton-Draw
Villa-Draw
West Ham- Win
Stoke-Draw:happy-partydance:
4-4-2 surely. i just dont get why he sticks with it, especially with hugo on the left, that really doesnt work. Why not go with hugo and di santo up front or sammon ?
I think we’ll get something but not enough to get out of it. we dont score enough goals. weve been playing well recently but were still not getting the results we need so i think we’ll get points but not enough.
haha true though :)
