I thought that if Henriquez had come on for the last 10mins or so we could have nicked it, especially with the quality of balls that were being put into the box from Maloney and stam. Bar Di santo arriving just too late to get on the end of Maloney’s cross properly there were no players willing to get into the box and take a gamble. That is the annoying part but with hindsight I guess a draw is a fair result !

Yes, but if you’d taken the fad lad off, and put Henriquez on the left, he wouldn’t have been in box. Di Santo could have pushed out wide ( He does quite a lot anyway ! ) Henriquez would have provided the fresh legs that more than likely would have got on the end of Maloney’s cross. I just think that a young lad eager to prove himself would have been like a Jack Russell after a rabbit and would have given us the injection that we needed to finish Stoke off. With fat lad off the pitch Macca didn’t really figure and I think Di Santo could have drifted in from the left when needed just for the last 10 mins ! We will never know but I think Stoke were definitely there for the taking in the latter part of the game.

The law of averages says NO but I guess stranger things have happened ! Despite scoring 2 tonight I cant help but think that we don’t penetrate the box enough and against sides who still have something to play for in the coming months it could prove our downfall. Hope I am wrong but I just have a hunch this season that our Gods may look the other way ! We need 2 more teams like Villa who seem to have shot their bolt !
