Best team won on the day. We really took the game to Cardiff & attacked them from the off. Very enjoyable game from start to finish.
Nice Cardiff guy on the train said “good luck for the season, we (Cardiff) were rubbish”. I tried to ssay that I thought we played pretty well, to which he insisted they were still rubbish. Maybe that’s because we played well.
What can you say. Well, I can say … a great performance from everyone except the ref. 2 reds and 1 penalty went missing somewhere. From bottom to top in a day, a feat no other club has managed. Goal of the season already. A good shift put in by everyone. A crackin’ atmosphere. A bit of excitement when Kipre decided the only way he may get goal of the season was to try one in to his own net, but I have faith that he was playing safe. A great start, and as we never peak too soon … just imagine what is to come.
11 MoMs …. no passengers today, but maybe Robinson or Windass scraped the trophy. Jacobs did well. Fox was out foxing them all.
It is blinkin strange innit how a win in a game of football makes you feel so good. Why? I don’t gettit.
Truth is a lot of mascots have a “connection” with the club it represents. For eg, Liverpool’s mascot is a Liver bird, west ham’s has a hammer head & so on. Pies are associated with Wigan.I loved springy/JJ. I never really understood stripey or those 2 weird looking things. I never really understood the connection to Wigan. A pie however……
Yeah, those last 2 weird things ….. they upset me!!! Sort of. I don’t really want to say what they reminded me of here for fear of upsetting others but they were a bit like the foetus of an alien. They were disturbing!
I quite like it TBH! Tongue in cheek stereotype of Wigan. Harmless fun.Me too. I think it is a bit of harmless fun, and what other purpose do the ‘mascots’ serve. I heard that it was designed by 2 kids, which is nice. What ever, for me it is a million times better than the last 2. They simply disturbed me.
I think I should I adopt a cash for questions approach to this thread but seeing as I’m on my third glass of wine I shall say:I think Stirling will be a priceless addition to the squad, Lowe will be on top of his game and lead us to the summit (mid table).

I can’t remember where I’ve posted what. It’s going to be a massey-ive season, without a Lowe point. I’ll be marshalling ES7 and as a rubbish pass is put in I’ll say what in ‘evans was that? It wont be Lang until we’re in our stride, cooking up game plan after game plan. We’ll be 2 up and suddenly another goes in; What? More?-sy I said we’d win 3 – o. Pilkington smashed in the first.

As ‘Edwards’ said “Sterling will add some value to the squad”, I do wonder if there is a player called ‘Euro’, at present he’d add a lot more value.
