Yeah, I think he’ll do well next year and the good thing is he’s young as well so we might possibly be able to hold onto him a bit longer until a big club comes chasing after him.
I dont have a clue TBH, nobody strikes me as an obvious choice.
That’s fair comment, but as for Bramble v Caldwell, I’d think I’d prefer the latters’ more up and at ’em, aggressive attitude than Bramble’s more laid back approach.
You never know though, the captaincy could be just the thing to bring Bramble out of his shell so to speak. I wouldn’t have either of em to be honest, as their both prone to the odd clanger, and their form and temperament in the said game could dip as a result, summat u dont want your captain having.
Whats reckon to McCarthy as vice captain? Think if we can keep hold of him for long enough, he’ll be a real player for us.
Or it could just be the thing to make him lose all his confidence again. You just never know with Titus :PGood read, nice one Mr.Ellington.
If we get relegated I’m supporting United.
Could we not do the ‘doo doo doo Pascal Chimbonda’ except Mauro Boselli instead of Chimbonda?
Who does that?
And did you guys hear about Kingson?:
Richard Kingson has expressed his desire to remain in the Premier League after being released by Wigan.Kingson joined the Latics in 2008 after a frustrating season with Birmingham but has been unable to establish himself as No.1 at the DW Stadium.
Having made just four first-team appearances in two years, manager Roberto Martinez decided that he would allow Kingson to leave Wigan.
Kingson has had the opportunity to showcase his talents with Ghana at the World Cup and is desperate to secure a move to another English club.
“I have to prove myself in the Premier League. It is an unfulfilled mission for me,” said the 32-year-old.
“It was not easy at Wigan but I tried to stay positive and do everything correctly.
“I was waiting for my chance and it did not come. Now I am at the World Cup. I am playing, I am comfortable and I am happy. Everyone can see what I can do.
“I would still like to stay in England because I know I could play every week in the Premier League.”
England surprise
Having plied his trade in the Premier League for the past few years, Kingson admits he expected England to mount a stronger challenge for World Cup glory.
The goalkeeper, who slipped to fourth choice at one stage during his time at Wigan, is well aware of how strong the domestic game is in England.
“I am here and they are not. Everybody can see that,” Kingson said of England’s demise.
“There is no need for me to say anything. It is for other people to judge.
“But I am a little bit surprised England were so bad because most of their players have had a good season, especially those from Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.
“We all expected them to get to the final, or at worst the semis. To go out in the last 16 was not part of the plan at all.”2 July 2010 at 7:59 pm in reply to: Transfer news, paper talk, who you want – get it all in here #38935I heard we were after someone called Serge Deble.
29 June 2010 at 11:35 pm in reply to: Transfer news, paper talk, who you want – get it all in here #38695Apparently Juventus are after Charlie but I mean when it’s the World Cup everybody’s said to be after everybody.
Bring in Redknapp.
You must be chuffed thenNo, it’s just that I won’t be insulted for no reason whatsoever.
That Ghana aren’t entertaining :P
He also said that I was a barrel of laughs for not thinking that we would walk over Germany :roll:The defence is shamefulCome on Uruguay then :)
the full england squad
STOP PAYING THESE TOSSERS THE MONEY THEY DEMAND AND BIGGING THEM UP :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x
BEATEN BY THERE UNDER 21SExactly. All there wages and all the money they have earned this year should go to charity.
But U.S.A have scored so we’ll most likely play Germany in the next round and if we can’t beat Algeria then…
Christ, you’re a barrel of laughs. Germany lost to Serbia, so whats your point?
I am hoping we do play the Krauts, it will be far more entertaining than Ghana, and it will be more satisfying when we knock them out.
I’m sorry, what were you saying? :roll:27 June 2010 at 2:00 am in reply to: Transfer news, paper talk, who you want – get it all in here #38405Can we not still get that Waldo Ponce? Or has the deal completely fallen through because I’ve just read this:
Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of Chile international defender Waldo Ponce and he officially becomes a Latics player on Saturday, January 2nd 2010.Ponce will join on an initial one year deal which is a compromise with the player wanting 18 months and the Latics offering just six at the start of negotiations with concerns over the 27 year old being up to the rigours of the Premier League
Ponce has had one unsuccessful period in European football in 2003 when he had a 6 month loan spell with German club Wolfsburg where he only managed 5 appearances and was very unconvincing but he was one of the stars of the South America world cup qualifiers and helped Chile to comfortably qualify for the finals.
Ponce`s deal at his current club, Velez Sarsfield of Argentina, ran out on the 31st December and he will be joining the Latics on a free leaving the player to receive $1.4 million in wages. Ponce has represented Chile 23 times scoring twice.
