Jeez fellas, those chips must weigh heavy on your shoulders.

It is not allowed to compliment a smallish club who are doing well, whilst sticking to their principles? Are Wigan Athletic the only club allowed to rise through the divisions and win the FA Cup? Are you jealous that the likes of Bournemouth are doing so well?

(and I think you’ll find that Wigan Warriors pay rent to the owner of the DW stadium, which is not Wigan Athletic FC).

Hats off again to Jimmy Floyd at Burton ,he certainly knows how to win games of football. I don’t think he even has the luxury of keeping the sort of players we have had on the bench recently either but they work for him and whatever he does it works.

Indeed. They are a relatively new club, with a small fan base, surrounded by larger, more established teams steeped in history who look down their noses at them, like they are an irritable fly. They have a “community” feel about them, from their small ground, to the lack of big-time charlies on the playing field.

Hopefully, if they make it further up the football pyramid, they wont sell their soul to the devil and pack their squad full of overseas merceneries at the expense of the local talent.

    Why especially those?

Because they were created in the last couple of days. GL has already responded to one fake ID. The other (Terrythelurker) is on this thread:

As for the rest of your comment – I couldn’t give a flying fk what you think – I’m just trying to help a fella on here who has been wronged – even if he doesn’t like me.

I think you’ll find that I stated I didn’t think it was you (about 5 posts above). You may have said derogatory things about me on here, and may not like my sporting allegiences, but I think you are too old and too educated to be a multi-ID troll.

Good luck in your libel action – especially against the individuals who have created two IDs (Terrythelurker & Garswoodlatic) to make you out to be the troll.

I bought a bulk load of toilet roll recently and we have enough newspapers to light the woodburner throughout winter, so I’ll pass on your kind offer of a copy of Hock’s story of cocaine abuse.

It seems GL is the latest name to be linked to Terry the troll. Personally, I cant see it being him – he strikes me as a bit more educated than that, even if he dislikes me for not sharing his views.

They want to close all comments on both sides imo, they do that when it’s anything worth venting your spleen on like immigrants, rapists and kiddy fiddlers anyway.

Or the article about Gareth Hock’s autobiography. Its about the only thing where the multi-ID troll has been agreed with!

Dear Lord, I’ve just read it, is this grown men we’re talking about here?

Not only grown men, but some are old enough to be grown men’s dad or in the case of one, granddad.

Some of us are trying to stop this trollish behaviour by one individual with multiple IDs, but as soon as he gets banned, he pops up again with another ID. Names are being banded around as to who it is, but I would find it surprising if the latest name to be mentioned is the ringleader – I would have thought someone pushing 70 would be above this kind of behaviour. However, if you or anyone else knows who it is then please tell them to stop, as they are ruining debate by their pettiness, spite and immaturity.

As I said before, holding a chip on your shoulder over a comment made by a former director of WAFC for almost 35 years must be pretty painful.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I post on the WEP under the same name as on here. Strange as it may seem to you, but there are quite a few people who feel the same as I do about this humungous chip on your collective shoulders harking back to the mid-80s.

The multi-poster with issues that is on a one-man crusade to piss everyone off is someone well-known to some of you on here – he was slagging Sammy off on the WEP the other day.

No one has said they outplayed us.

Zeb 2 did (2nd post in)

Fully agree, outplayed us all night, very quick and committed, closing us down high up the pitch.

Just looking on the WEP website and it appears Mutty is having a tug on there about this as well.

    Sad sad individual.

Worries more about crowds and crowd behaviour than on the team performance and the attitude of the fans who have stuck behind the team.[/quote]

I take it you felt the same way about Mr Moss’s post then….

£18 on Saturday, but £10 if there’s a replay at the DW.

Sounds like one club is treating the fans with contempt and one is trying to enter the spirit of the FA Cup by charging the minimum for Round 1.

in reply to: Grant Holt #145518

Do you all not find it strange that Holt was loaned out despite the manager saying only two weeks or so ago that he was not going to be loaned out?

    http://www.wigantoday.net/sport/wigan-athletic/latics-news/caldwell-rubbishes-holt-rumours-1-7507333

If its about wages, in the grand scheme of things, surely having a player who (clearly, because he has been loaned to Wolves) is Championship standard, is better for the club than saving a few quid for two months?

in reply to: FAO mr caldwell & mr sharpe #145430

The last time I turned up at a Latics game not knowing any of the players was the 6-3 demolition of Chester when Gillespie beat Chester pretty much on his own. I checked out who he was and found he was a Man Utd youngster which kind of explained the gulf in class between him and the other players!

For the first 30 minutes last night Wildschut was utterly unplayable when Wigan wewre going forward, which they did at will. He did seem to go off the boil a bit after Posh changed their tactics and actually put the Wigan defence under pressure – I guess defending isn’t his strong point at the moment, which may explain why he’s out on loan, as the higher up the football pyramid you go, the more is expected of your players.

in reply to: tonights game #145425

Ive just got back from the game having been thoroughly entertained by two sides who went all out for victory. Wigan’s first goal was very impressive – a powerful run and shot by Wildshut, who ran the Peterborough defence ragged for the first 30 minutes.

In the 2nd half, Peterborough gave it everything and deservedly drew level, but I think they were still celebrating, as the gap in the centre of defence was Canyon-esque to allow Power to waltz through and slot home. At that point, Peterborough were spent and had nothing more to give.

If you continue to attack like that then you’ll do very well – the problem is when attackers run at your defence and they start to panic. Good luck for the rest of the season.

The alleged fight didn’t take place inside Old Trafford, it was at some marquee in Manchester 3 hours before kick off.

As I said.. The proper fans were at Old Trafford.
