Fights through a massive injury and now it looks like he is off to Wolves on loan. I thought this man would have been an important part of a promotion set up but no. Another wage saved I suppose but would be handy to have around for when Davies is out again.
31 October 2015 at 12:43 am #145494Never mind … we’ve got some goal scorers still on board …. WildShoot, ViKick, Griggs, Jordi as well as the others who are scoring. In fact GH is the only striker to have not scored!
31 October 2015 at 1:17 am #145496Good riddance, to one of the biggest flops this club has ever had… A very expensive burden to the club, just hope Wolves pay his full wages.
31 October 2015 at 2:18 am #145499just when he was getting fit as well one can only assume that there is a call back thing in the loan in case of injuries
31 October 2015 at 2:43 am #145504The loan is only until January so you would hope he can go that long without injury?!
He’s 34 and is way past his best so for me the quicker he goes the better. Let’s hope Wolves see something in him and keep him until the end of the season
Was speaking to a Barrow fan only last week about this mon and he said they were hoping to get him but found out what his wages were and that was it!!
31 October 2015 at 2:52 am #145506I know but I would sooner have him on the pitch than jordi has a reserve/sub especially with Davies injury track record
31 October 2015 at 3:06 am #145507Jordi? Do you mean Flores 35?
Bolton fan at work was gutted when they let him go to us. But said he was injury prone, which is probably why they let him go?
31 October 2015 at 3:09 am #145508No huddersfield mon
31 October 2015 at 4:20 am #145509Good riddance, to one of the biggest flops this club has ever had… A very expensive burden to the club, just hope Wolves pay his full wages. That award must go to a certain Mr Boseli. Think Holty had the misfortune to get injured then his face didn’t fit with Herr Rosler then injured again. Just making a comeback and now he doesn’t fit into the wage policy at Latics. Wait till January and Barnet McGann and Cowie will be gone too.
31 October 2015 at 1:21 pm #145510Good riddance, to one of the biggest flops this club has ever had… A very expensive burden to the club, just hope Wolves pay his full wages. You’re saying he was worse than Aghahowa, Fortune, Boselli… et al?
31 October 2015 at 2:08 pm #145511It doesn’t matter who was worse than who!
The bottom line is that Grant Holt has been an expensive luxury, that for what ever reason has not scored anything like the number of goals we all hoped for when he signed. Time for him to move on.
31 October 2015 at 2:41 pm #145512Never looked like getting a goal for us unless it was a pen. Thought he was a top buy at the time but sadly not.
31 October 2015 at 3:38 pm #145513Time for him to move on.The point of course is that he is only on loan for 2 months – when he would have been unlikely to feature much for us. Let him get fit somewhere else off our wage bill, and be available for us to consider bringing him back if we need him for the second half of the season push.
31 October 2015 at 5:14 pm #145514What’s the difference between Grant Holt playing for Wolves and Grant Holt playing for Latics?…
He gets to sit on the bench 2 and a half hours earlier playing for Wolves.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!31 October 2015 at 6:42 pm #145518Do you all not find it strange that Holt was loaned out despite the manager saying only two weeks or so ago that he was not going to be loaned out?

If its about wages, in the grand scheme of things, surely having a player who (clearly, because he has been loaned to Wolves) is Championship standard, is better for the club than saving a few quid for two months?
