The problem is we are back in the bottom 3 tomoz whatever the Blackburn / Sunderland result is. :(

Thing is tho jr,we have closed the gap on those above us.We were getting cut adrift a bit but now after 2 wins we are in striking distance.

I havent watched the game or read any reports but i bet it was the ref,s fault.Maybe the pitch was crap or it was too cold or they had the wrong coloured shirts on.

Aint too sure Edinburgh to be honest but the charge was Financial irregularities. Two other clubs the aforemantioned Spurs and i seem to think the other may have been Boston Utd were also charged.Swindon beat Leicester in the play off final which put them into the Prem. They were relegated 2 divisions but after appeal it was only one so they just stayed in the Championship. We played them in the old 3rd division play off.

This from the same Swindon town who got done for match fixing…..

Didnt know they had been done for match fixing but they did get relegated 2 divisions for financial irregularities after they had won promotion to the Prem, think it was against Leicester which was later reduced to 1 relegation.

Strangely not too long after Spurs got done for the same thing got 6 points deducted expelled from the FA Cup and fined. Alan Sugar then chairman appealed and got the points back and also their FA Cup place, just ended up with a fine

Not what you know but who you know.

will whelan give martinez funds in jan transfer window(providing hes still here), im not so sure given his recent track record, or will we be selling again

Who will want any of our boys?

I think Bobby has been so focussed of building a strong squad he hasent really seen what the first team needs. He looks to the future and misses the present. He could go out and sign a 30 goal a season player but that will still be inadequate because we simply cannot defend and all the emphasis is on passing the ball to death across the middle of the park.We need too many areas addressing in my opinion and even then we wouldnt be guaranteed survival so i dont see too much being spent.

Will Mr Whelan give him any money to spend?

I am beginning to wonder if the pending “FINANCIAL FAIR PLAY” is playing a part in the way Mr Whelan has been running the club.DW is a brilliant businessman and im pretty sure he has means tested how it is going to affect the Club.It may be that we will simply be unable to sustain top flight football once it has been put into place. We have the lowest ticket prices which may be great for us the fans but it doesnt bring in massive revenue the club needs. We will never be able to afford the stellar players or the over-inflated wages so im not expecting much activity in Jan and Mr Whelan will know exactly how much money if any that Bobby will be given.

Trouble is W,mon a lot of times on here opinions go out the window and it is just vitriol that is spouted.Nobody likes whats going on here and every last one of us who post want things to improve.Ive said i dont think Bobby is up to it and his sidekicks Jones and Barrow are totally out of their depth but whats the point in hurling abuse on here? Mr Whelan will make the decisions not us by slagging each other off on here.

But if we were to get and lose to a lower league club the damage could be irreperable and the pressure on RM would be immense.I really dont want Bobby to suffer yet another embarrassment.

Cannot believe that this thread has been posted, don’t want Notts County or other lesser teams. Were is the pride and fighting spirit we have always had in spades? What happened to Little Wigan taking the piss?

Roberto Martinez is 100% to blame for this   [/quote]

Its not the spirit and pride that worries me Hindley mon, its fearing Bobby will put out a weakened team as per usual.I doubt any of us would relish humiliation if we come unstuck. Its always us the fans that suffer most and this is definately a potential bananaskin for us.

Not really marrer, Bobby would probably rest players anyway so if we are gonna have any chance of survival i reckon we can do without the cup games.

He also gave Mr Whelan his word he was staying first time round and after drawing up the list and releasing the players he didnt want he promptly fooked off

in reply to: Bye bye, Brucie #75265
The word was that Sunderland had already decided to sack him over the weekend but held back the announcement because of Gary Speed’s death.

So how many Premier League managers have now been sacked immediately after playing us?

    Heres Hoping A V B is next ;)

It aint just Rovers either, yet again Portsmouth are in limbo due to dodgy owners. As you say it puts our plight into perspective and shows just what a job Dave Whelan is actually doing. He may not be wasting millions on players and he may be unable to stop us being relegated but give me our owner over the Venkys and the shower at Pompey anyday

Another tale of Billy big boots leaving little Wigan to hit the big time.
