I don’t care how many we sell tbh as long as we win. As we’ve said time and time again to the likes of Newcastle fans who have a go at our crowds………..fans don’t make prizes.

1 word and as kept our ticket sales down and thats Millwall.

First of all the reputation of Millwall as put parents taking children down, and to add to this the fact that people are expecting to beat them they are taking the gamble on getting through to the final. If we had drawn City or Chelsea then this would have been our final to a lot of people and we would have shifted a lot more tickets.

But its Quality not Quantity (thats my excuse with the wife ;) ) that matters and i know that our following will be a lot more vocal and passionate than the 7000 true Millwall fans and 240000 plastic Millwall fans.
Just enjoy your day and fingers crossed lets go back for the BIG UN in May

You never know the experience af playing in big matches at Wembley (Final fingers crossed) and then the lure of European football might just give the push we need for the contract renewals and maybe a better calibre of player.

And i also cant see Bobby walking away if he gets us into Europe its like bagging the fittest bird in Wigan after chasing her for 9 months, spreadeagled on the bed ready to go then walking away to go with the minger next door.

27000 at Cardiff and for me the atmosphere was crap, give me 15000 true supporters instead of 31000 plastics anyday.
Millwall 1999 at wembley – brilliant atmosphere
Gillingham 2000 at Wembley – brilliant atmosphere
Arsenal away semi final – brilliant atmosphere
Everton FA Cup Q/F – brilliant atmosphere
Carling Cup Final – 3-10 times more than any of the above matches and the worst atmosphere going.

I blame Bobbby.

in reply to: Are we really going to sell out! #106201

Everybody stop flapping.

Anybody who wants a ticket will get one, we have got 10000 season ticket holders (quoted of a club official yesterday and one in high places) is everybody takes up their full allocation that still leaves 1000 for general sale. But once they do go on general sale anybody who lives in or around Wigan will more than likely have one cause there will be already 20000 non season ticket holders with tickets.
The Carling cup final only sold out with a few days to go until the final so it wasnt like people were being turned away ticketless. Add this to that fact the word Millwall as put some families off going and the fact that we have a bloody good chance of getting to the final which i know of people who are taking the gamble cause they cant afford both trips.

And i have just spoke to a bloke at work who went down at dinner time and there wasnt one person in the q he walked straight to the window and bought 2 (so thats 1 more for general sale along with the 2 on a season ticket i borrowed) £40 tickets in block 510 which are virtually behind the goals and not in the corner like what people got yesterday after queing in the cold for 6 hours, he did say that the singing section blocks were all sold out so we are probably half way round to selling all the £40 ones.

I am going to go with Griff on this one and show my arse on Wembley way if we sell out on the first day of general sale leaving fans ticketless and unhappy.

He had some proper beef with him, wonder what the history behind it was?

4000 tickets sold in one hour that seems a lot saying there are 5/6 counters open, did she not mean 4000 in the first 4 hours?

The conversation took place at just after 1:00 pm, according to what my daughter told me, the girl said 4000+ had been sold just after 10:00am not including online.

I think the early birds would have been buying for groups with multiple season tickets so they can sit together.
My missus and son spent an hour in the queue until I managed to buy online, and she said alot were doing the same and leaving the queue when someone got their tickets online, but talking to people around her many had client codes for 10 or 20 people, one person near her had codes and was purchasing for 70 people.

Anyway an update from the ticket office, nothing on numbers, but ar 4:00 pm they stopped anyone else joining the queue, which was still up to the east stand, and they were staying open until the all the ones in the queue had been served.
I had a drive down at half 4 and there was about 20-30 in the que and i saw at least 1 person join it.

Must admit I thought that as well.

Just say we have 14,000 season ticket holders and only 10,000 of them are buying tickets, then that could swallow up anything between 20,000 and 30,000. Add to it the corporate season ticket holders that have already got theirs and wooooosh they could all go! :woohoo:

If every season ticket holder buys three tickets each, there will still be 1000 left for General sale. And that’s from a club official (via Scoffy!)
And 25% of them are under 16s, the future is looking good…
