Sorry
Surely our tickets in the away end could be printed on Latics ticket paper. Or is that too simple?
We made exactly the same comparison with Jason Roberts.
What an excellent goal it was too!
I missed Emmerdale tonight.
I was watching Latics. :P
That game saw the best tup I’ve ever seen on a football pitch. Administered by our ex player and assistant manager Graeme Jones.
He was trudging towards the tunnel having just been red carded when one of their players must have said something to him and boooshak!
Yes. I know. On the video you can see me trying to keep the benches apart (and failing miserably of course).
At the end of the game we escorted Lynchy off and I suggested we hang back a short while to let the tunnel clear. He agreed profusely. It was very rare for us to have a police officer join the escort, but that night we did.
After the game I was posted outside the ref’s room with orders to allow nobody but the assessor in (and he was in like a shot!).
About 5 times Ian Holloway came along the corridor saying “I just want a quick word with the ref”.
“I’m sorry, Mr Holloway, I cannot let you in” :)Actually “A Trialist” played at Ashton the other night, so he’s likely to be an Under 18. He may have been included in the squad of the under 21 team on Saturday to see if he could get a bit of match time if the score suited, but obviously it didn’t, so he stayed on the bench.
I suspect he’s had more of a trial than just sitting on the bench at Witton or wherever it was. Or maybe he was just rubbush at Ashton – I don’t remember anyone in particular showing much promise tbh besides the keeper who I believe played on Saturday, Marosi, and a guy called Jennings, who seemed to play a sort of attacking midfield role.
People would have had the knives out soon enough if we’d lost.
A good performance, and players finding the net. There have been occasions in the past when we suspected that even without opposition players couldn’t find the goal.
I’m encouraged by these results – just not getting carried away.
Interesting comments, particularly in praise of Owen Coyle. He really does seem to be getting things right at the moment.

We used to call someone in work “Kenny Lynch”.
Everyone knew who he was.
You always saw him around.
But no-one knew exactly what he did.It does look to me like you mentioned Griff first in this thread when he hadn’t contributed
Stalingrad or Ashton? I know all the jokes, but honestly which would you have chosen?
That’s pretty well what I was ham-fistedly trying to say, TL.
It’s at grassroots level that support is needed – not PL or in fact WSL. Look at what they have done to Doncaster Belles – ignoring one of the major pioneering women’s clubs at the expense of City.
How do you know he hasn’t? ;)
Better than 5:30 when everyone’s got tanked up
sorry but no it’s not
that is (arguably) the whole point of Blackpool away[though I was also at Ashton last night and can see the flip side][/quote]
Go on the pop AFTER the game?
