The Chinese won’t let it happen. If there’s a war – and it will be on Korean territory, not American -millions of refugees will flood into China. They don’t want that.
Precisely. I believe there’s some song or other that goes “que sera sera”
Final is 25,000 to each club.
And there’s Kevin Prince Boateng
I remember Paul Mariner
Some good comments on there don’t think Bobby will like the hanging out at KFC bit though :dry:Why? Is he a McDonalds man?
Depends very much which division we’re in. Golobart’s looked sound to me.
My tickets arrived in the post this morning, ordered online on Sunday.
I must say a big well done to the ticket office on this one.
Assuming you mean you’re travelling in by Tube – keep your head down. You’ll probably be fine, but you can never be sure. Just don’t display colours, and don’t dance around when we win. :)
Just to clarify. I used to work for the stadium too, and have on a few occasions worked in the control room – next to the gate computer. Although a warm job, I didn’t enjoy it – preferred to be out among the fans and not being in radio contact with stewards dealing with “issues”. Too much like hard work for me :)
How it worked was that the computer shows a figure for gate “clicks”. It’s in real time as security and police need to be able to monitor any hotspots. Not likely at Latics, we know, but after Hillsbrough everything has to be “just so”.
When all are in the ground, the computer will show, for example, 11,548. Someone in the control room will then estimate the extras. On a couple of occasions I actually did it. “Come on, George, give us the attendance figure”. Because this is a security and police matter it has to be realistic. The police have to report what the crowd is to their superiors, and wild misrepresentations would not be acceptable. So with that figure you’d probably say something like “11,814”. That becomes the official figure.
A representative of whichever club used to come at half time (for Latics it was Brenda) and asked US what the crowd was. They had no say in determining the figure, and equally no account was taken of club politics.
Hopefully that explains how it was done. Crowd figures are as near as dammit accurate.
just over 8k on…but they count non show s/ticket holders hence the inflated crowd…….its a rugby own you knowNot so.
The computers show how many clicks through the turnstiles there are, then a small number is added on (both Warriors and Latics do it) to account for corporate etc. that come through the Reception doors.
Control of crowd numbers is a Stadium Security and Police matter.
just over 8k on…but they count non show s/ticket holders hence the inflated crowd…….its a rugby own you knowLatics do the same – it’s a “sold” ticket
Anyone know how strict they are likely to be about ale on the official club coaches? Obviously it says don’t take any but would they really care if I took a few cans? Not a crate!Police may stop, search and turn back the whole coach if any alcohol is found.
It says “don’t take” for a reason.

Note para 1(4) – it is also an offence to be drunk on such a vehicle
Is it possible to have an argument with the missus and win?
I don’t know any Wigan fans to talk to
