Ah – here I am!!
The Villareal page mentioned way above says “Marco Ruben will be carrying on his career with Villareal as he has not reached a final agreement for his transfer to Wigan, and so the 23-year-old striker will continue with the Yellows, under the management of Juan Carlos Garrido.
The manager is named because he is manager of Villareal B, not the first team manager. I think as well that “carrying on his career” has a slightly different connotation in English – it implies a long-term look at life – maybe a better translation (but less literal) is that “he is stopping”.
I read the original version as saying he is staying with Villareal as he cannot reach “a certain/definite deal” (un acuerdo definitivo) with us.
To me that’s a “until he can reach agreement it’s everything as usual, chaps” not a “he’s definitely stopping with Villareal”.

Yes John.
Wasn’t commenting on your post.
Or Mystic Meg ;)
“in the submarine branch. ” :o :o :? :P :) :D
Oh dear.
Don’t bother with translating websites. Try and ask someone who can understand the language – and translate it properly.
If you had a piece from Villareal’s official site (which obviously has weight) then why post a link to Wikipedia (which has the authority of a haddock)?
Or maybe you made the amendment to Wikipedia?? :?
Got a 404 on this?
Nope
Ah! Wikipedia – the only true oracle of our time.
I might just go and amend it to show he’s signed for Castleford Tigers.
That’s how authoritative it is.
My thoughts?
Against Hull I wondered why he didn’t play every week.
Against Notts I wondered why we’d signed him.
Just goes to show – you need a bit more evidence before raving about or at any player.
The jury’s out.
Portsmouth-Cardiff wasn’t exactly a match made in heaven…
They are
Oh for God’s sake!!
“Villareal and Wigan Athletic have reached the basis of an agreement for the transfer of Marco Ruben, who will leave the Spanish Second Division to appear in the Premier League. The 23-year-old striker for the Yellows with nine goals, who was formerly with Recreativo Huelva before his arrival at the Yellow Team (previously he has played for Rosario Central and river Plate in Argentina) will travel in the next few days to England to close the last details of the agreement and put his signature on the contract.
Villareal thank Marco Ruben for his dedication and wish him all the best for his future career.”
At least by the end they cared……
