Phil what do you expect?

‘We’ll be lucky to scrape 15th or 16th again. If I were you I wouldn’t bother coming to watch us or, if you’re a player, sign for us.’

Johnny, did you actually read the article ? He says top half, I say deluded ! Can I not comment on his delusions of grandeur or what !! I actually think that we might even go down this season and if so then so be it but he needs to wind his neck in the old fool !
Yes you can comment on it, as can I. If he was talking to you in the Brick then yes, if he was going on about top half, you’d be well within your rights to laugh at him and call him delusional.

But he’s not. He’s speaking to the national press, and if he’s wanting to attract fans, players and investors, he’s hardly likely to make the club sound ambitionless, broke and a certainty to finish in obscurity somewhere just above the relegation places.
Do you honestly believe that fans, players and investors alike will take notice of his little pipe dreams ? He has been repeating the same mantra for the last 8 years and I don’t see a rush from any of the above do you ! If he wants his dreams to come to fruition then he must put his money where his mouth is or simply keep quiet ! What makes me laugh is that I like you fully expect the bottom 5 finish yet the drummer hating Roses fan seems to think it’s just me who is the realist !
Oh how we laughed when he took over the club and came out with that statement that he would have our lovely little club in the premiership within ten years and also have a new spanking 25000 stadium

oh sorry you were not around then
Neither were 10,000 other fans, what is your point exactly ?
Your delusional rantings about Sir David

              Not going.

I will NOT pay £42 to sit in Anfield Road, as I have better things to spend my money on this time of year.

Frig away games. Overpriced rip off.

Totally agree ABL I chose to shop on amazon then the game on line a few tinnies added up to £37 saved a fiver :)

Surely you are wise enough to understand that Dave opinion of the next level will be done in a financial scale that will not put the clubs finances in jeopardy ,We all know that as wealthy as DW is he his out of his league when even coming up against clubs owners such as Reading and QPR ,Southampton even.

The next level may or may not be achieved if it is it will be done within the financial capabilities of the club ,without putting the club in financial risk

The next level will always be the toughest to achieve umless you do the portsmouth theory and we all know what went on there

£1.2 million according to that site anyhow plus I was under the impression that the moses money was in installments which would possibly explain DW dipping into his own pocket

The clue probably was the sale of Moses and Sammon conbined sales of £10 million

Yep nicely balanced I make it £85 Million spent in the Prem and £87 million recouped and all those who said a certain person had pocketed the lot eh ?

The point I was making was why shouldn’t we risk it for a biscuit with the lad from Burnley. At least he will be accustomed to the surroundings and shit weather !

How much would you pay for said lad ?
Not a clue ! We wont buy him anyhow because the gaffer is probably very happy with his strike force ! Boselli will get his chance when Kone leaves for international duty. To be honest I am more concerned about the wing back situation because if we are going to carry on using wing backs then I really do think that RM needs to fetch in a couple more players.
I’ll give you a clue ,Southampton bought Rodrigez off Burnley for £7 mill ,Wolves bought Fletcher off Burnley for £7 million just a taster of what to expect ,then again if he’s out of contract take the biscuit and have a dabble

Any hoo have a look at this table of Wigan Transfers cant believe we’ve spent so much

Filmoss you have just described about 12 teams in the premier league with that statement it’s about your passion for the club like every other supporter in the greed league all clubs sell there best players to survive look at Villa ,Aresnal they have sold top rate internationals to get the house in order admittedly in Aresnals case to pay for a spanking new stadium listen to any football phone on a night after the matches.

In an attempt to sign equal or at least players to cover for those departed over the next couple of seasons will depend on league positions obviously but it is a fine line you cross when paying out vast amounts of money on transfers and wages to the amount of money coming in .Like you say you have to show ambition and at the moment the club arn’t doing to bad in the position they are in if we stay mid-table until the transfer window there may be a chance of player coming who would otherwise not bother if we are languishing around third from bottom .

I could be wrong but Ricky Lambert would have been used to playing in that Southampton side for the last two or three years ,with the same players around him playing in a system that he is used to For the likes of Scotland/king they were put into a team in unfirmilier surroundings the same could be said if we pursue Austin although I assume it is just a rumour at the minute to go from a mid table championship club to a lower league premiership club is a big step up and a change of scenery as not always proved productive I give you jermaine Beckford for example
