Actually felt sorry for Mansfield, they proverbially p***ed all over us big time and should have won comfortably and must have been wondering how they didn’t get the points given their dominance.
Our players seemed disinterested and to not even muster up one shot on target was an absolute disgrace and unacceptable for a Wigan Athletic team.
At least Maloney had some influence in that he occasionally came up with a victory here and there but those tactics and the overall performance was the worst I have seen for some time.
Whelan might end up the manager , cheap option which no doubt may happen.
No investment, fire sales of the best players , no quality and now no manager.
Not goodOut the blue that one as he seemed to have bedded in with inconsistent results but always pulling out a rabbit out of the hat when it was needed.
Maybe things occurred that we will never know about after the game but here we go again.
I didn’t think relegation was possible with Shaun but rather more concerned now as we all know how disastrous past mid season appointments have been in the past.
Have a feeling Shaun will pop up somewhere again in the future and and like others thank him for his huge involvement in saving the club in 2023 and showing huge loyalty during one of the most difficult periods in the clubs history.
My overriding memory of him is when he showed genuine emotion when some young supporters presented him with a suprise gift , a decent and in many respects a humble man which sadly was probably his undoing in the harsh world of football management.@joshmartin2339 on TikTok wow this guy will be awful disappointed take a look at his video

Sad bar steward and very ragged off tonight I bet
I would say we are already in the relegation mix looking at the table this morning.
Goal difference is maybe worth an extra point granted but there are some very tough fixtures coming up and maybe the reality of the situation needs to kick in around the club.
The intensity rapidly needs to be increased and they need to start going direct and get in teams faces.
Selling Thelo was a mistake in my opinion and if the worst happens the financial impact will cost the club far more than the fee they received.10317

Why do they keep bringing in defenders? when it’s glaringly obvious a decent lower league striker is needed.
Defence is fine as far as it looks but no use have a skinflint defence without a potent striker and I cannot believe they haven’t scouted clubs to see if there is one available and I’m not talking about ‘promising ‘ I am talking about finished article.
An older striker maybe but one who can deliver the goals now Thelo has gone because I am struggling to see where they are going to come from. They also back then would be so devoid of reserve players it was not uncommon some to be drafted in from the local pub leagues to play in Central league games.
Just hope the goals come from somewhere because if they dont we might have a very difficult last few months of the season.Very similar to early 90s Kenny Swain era and Maurice Lindsay and his cronies immediately spring to mind with the Rugby gaining credence one again, town turning red again.
Will end up in National league north with this self sufficiency malarkey and any assets will be sold off quickly and at maximum return with no ongoing investment in the playing staff other than cheap loans or free transfers.
It’s bare bones policy and a once ambitious and forward thinking club has now become a sell to survive one almost overnight.
An absolute wreck of a football club at the moment and a huge policy change is needed because if this policy continues I really fear for this once great little football club.8376
Heard rumours Swansea are in the mix, dear me Thelo what a graveyard move that would be !
Stay put till summer with hopefully 15/20 league 1 goals under your belt.
Be a better move surely by then.12,786
The more the crowds dwindle the more the owners have to put in so it’s false economy in my view.
Never thought the club would return to a period as grim as the late 1980s /90speriod but it looks like that’s where we are going without investment. What a rubbish idea , why ??
In the south stand 200 makes hardly no noise and will deflate the away team more likely however given be that 200 two sheets of the west and suddenly a tiny hollow away following becomes a noisy mob firing up their players and given Latics poor home form the last thing they need.
I cannot see what the saving is bar a few stewards and gate staff and a bit of lighting underneath in the concourse.
I agree with the issues with crowd control also , bad idea all round in my opinion. -
