Had a good view of the bench area yesterday and noticed his reaction when players were still messing about with sideways balls urging them to get the ball forwards.
More shots on goal and most certainly more excitement but a few players were going for glory themselves near goal rather than playing the simple pass.
Agree Chris Sze could turn out to be a great striker , he seems to position himself well on the six yard box.
Would have Hump back in a heartbeat though from what I saw when he came on.Moving tribute today before the game and even more so as the clock ticked passed 54 minutes.
A special special supporter and one who will never be forgotten.13790
Struggled to forgive Barnsley for a while after 2020 but like everything you move on and in my case forgive.
My feelings changed towards them massively when I saw them blast into a cocky Bolton side with their feet up
in a superb play off semi 2nd leg and they almost turned the tie around with an incredible display.
I have never forgotten that game , one of the best second halves of football
I have ever seen.
Hope he gets something on Saturday but Tuesday is the one for me.I remember Maurice Lindsay in that documentary about Wigan RL back in 1992 basically saying if you invest in the team the crowds go up as do
revenues.
He wasn’t that popular this side of town as we all know but he certainly knew how to build a team and he wasnt afraid to invest strongly in his team.
I didn’t hear any words about significant team investment on that feed other than the policy we have now unless I missed something.
League 1 is stronger now than its ever been and maybe even stronger next season so just cannot see top 6 without that investment in playing staff.10978
A very moving letter and I
Punched the air no doubt like many other Tics supporters when he scored that great goal yesterday.
My memory of him is of a player with great potential and like many others was gutted to see him leave when he did.
Well done Dan so very pleased to see you beat arguably the most arrogant football club and supporters the game has ever seen.Hopefully he has been promised some investment because if the current policy continues he will struggle.
Talk is cheap and no Manager no
Matter how good can make a silk purse with a sows ear.
Interesting times to comeThe goal difference is healthy so you could say 11 points clear.
The more I think about it I think they should just see the season out with this set up and review over the close season.
Like you say CW no point in bringing in a shake em up manager that might even upset what seems to a steadying ship at the moment.
They have some winnable games coming up and some very tricky ones especially the one on April Fools Day.
As for that prat slagging what seems to be a vulnerable young footballer then shame on him and I bet he’s never even kicked a ball in his life.
Football grounds seem more and more to be full of these clowns unfortunately , using the arena and situation to try to prove their very sad and inadequate machismo.
Good luck to Glen and his team and well done on results so far.
His surname might well be a lucky omenGiven the way the club has been ran over the past season it wouldn’t surprise me if they stayed with caretaker set up until the season is over especially after two clean sheets and 4 points from 6.

Actually felt sorry for Mansfield, they proverbially p***ed all over us big time and should have won comfortably and must have been wondering how they didn’t get the points given their dominance.
Our players seemed disinterested and to not even muster up one shot on target was an absolute disgrace and unacceptable for a Wigan Athletic team.
At least Maloney had some influence in that he occasionally came up with a victory here and there but those tactics and the overall performance was the worst I have seen for some time.
Whelan might end up the manager , cheap option which no doubt may happen.
No investment, fire sales of the best players , no quality and now no manager.
Not goodOut the blue that one as he seemed to have bedded in with inconsistent results but always pulling out a rabbit out of the hat when it was needed.
Maybe things occurred that we will never know about after the game but here we go again.
I didn’t think relegation was possible with Shaun but rather more concerned now as we all know how disastrous past mid season appointments have been in the past.
Have a feeling Shaun will pop up somewhere again in the future and and like others thank him for his huge involvement in saving the club in 2023 and showing huge loyalty during one of the most difficult periods in the clubs history.
My overriding memory of him is when he showed genuine emotion when some young supporters presented him with a suprise gift , a decent and in many respects a humble man which sadly was probably his undoing in the harsh world of football management.@joshmartin2339 on TikTok wow this guy will be awful disappointed take a look at his video

Sad bar steward and very ragged off tonight I bet
I would say we are already in the relegation mix looking at the table this morning.
Goal difference is maybe worth an extra point granted but there are some very tough fixtures coming up and maybe the reality of the situation needs to kick in around the club.
The intensity rapidly needs to be increased and they need to start going direct and get in teams faces.
Selling Thelo was a mistake in my opinion and if the worst happens the financial impact will cost the club far more than the fee they received. -
