Was like the Alamo near the end of that game but the lads did well to keep them out.
A major thing for any manager is whether the team gives their all and they certainly did that yesterday.
Onto Cheltenham this Friday and then Bolton and knowing this Latics team we can guess which game they will probably win out of those two.Have to keep bringing young players through but supporters being patient is another thing.

When a club is in transition like Latics are at the moment you probably will get several seasons of mid table and plenty of mediocrity.

Tickle , Thelo and Charlie were the best players again yesterday and all of them home grown.
Have to stay with it long term , future is bright I think.I liked both players , Lang for his work rate and Wyke more for the fact that he had had the good fortune to be back on the pitch after his health scare.
They both will do well with their new starts and Latics are a lot weaker without them both I think.

A true Latics legend who stayed with the club when times were very bad and I hope he gets the best move he can.But for Sam Tickle ( AGAIN !) i think we would have been talking about a defeat today had they taken their chances and as a spectacle the whole 109 minutes was shocking and as bad as i have witnessed watching Latics which is nearly 44 years ago.
Football is meant to be entertainment isnt it and that but for that last gasp goal was anything but that.

I appreciate it was a nasty night weather wise but most of that was totally unacceptable and i feel we got away with it again after an equally uninspiring display last saturday.
Make no mistake if the style is adopted on saturday then i feel we will get beaten comfortably and if it hadnt been for travel issues last night i would have been mightily concerned about that sub 8000 crowd !Sam Tickle was outstanding today and but for him and those crucial saves he made we’d probably be talking about another defeat.
Mid table now and very likely going to remain there but it’s a dreadful watch at the moment.The ridiculous 8 point deduction means that league 2 is a very real possibility and as many clubs have found its arguably the most difficult to escape from promotion wise.
Take the deduction away and the league table places Latic comfortably mid table and with a plus goal difference something the clubs around havent got.
I agree a very important week ahead and im not confident if last tuesdays performance is anything to go by , today is the most important in my opinion looking at the table.
