All the paperwork just been finalised clubs sold more news tomorrow, pretty much sure it’s Danson
14 June 2023 at 4:09 pm #200024🤞🤞🤞
14 June 2023 at 4:13 pm #200025Yes !!!!
14 June 2023 at 5:06 pm #200026Thank God for that, I don’t care what people think or say Danson is a legend. To take on a club in the mess we are in at the 11th hour takes some nuts the size of Space Hoppers.
I know for a fact if I had it I would. No amount of money can bring what a football club does to a community and were award winning at that bit.
I hope he does what DW and Jasmi promised but never did and I’ve been preaching for 25 years!!Invest in the kids, no more 30+ on 10k a week deals were done with that, that got us were we currently are, it doesn’t work.
Take a leaf out of Blackburn’s books,I’d sooner see a million quid go into the youth than Wyke and Cousins pockets.
This time next year we’ll be planning for the Championship
I’m taking the p#ss, calm down
14 June 2023 at 5:33 pm #200028@joshmartin2339 on TikTok wow this guy will be awful disappointed take a look at his video
14 June 2023 at 5:51 pm #200029On the other hand I remember going to Huddersfield when they were in financial trouble and along with plenty other Latics fans putting a few quid in collection buckets as we went through the turnstiles.
14 June 2023 at 5:54 pm #200030Many people are assuming that there is an ulterior motive.
Let’s re-think the facts a little bit.
Mr Danson reportedly had a £10m bid knocked back for the Cuckoo’s in Feb 2021.
He didn’t pursue it any further; why. Maybe he saw Pollard as being greedy ?Mr Danson was reportedly a Manchester United Fan in his younger years.
So without doubt he has got some leaning towards the sport.
Latics have developed their own brand and come a long long way since those days and have built a much higher profile that the Egg men.So let’s say he has bid that same £10m for the Latics plus the stadium, for a Wigan team.
That now satisfies his pride in being a born Wiganer and putting something back into the local community. The flip side is, that he now has a better deck of cards than Pollard and that Pollard will perceive him as a threat; hoping that Pollard will crumble and lower his silly aspirations and sell, thus achieving what Mr Whelan never did (owning both clubs).
So ironically it came to pass that the owner of Wigan Athletic buys the Warriors.
Yes that is acceptable in my book, as the Chubbies choke on their humble pie14 June 2023 at 6:02 pm #200031Thrilled…..Best outcome. The alternative didn’t bare thinking about. Soda pop chancer can now do one. Astute business man…..anyone with better choice feel free to enlighten me. Al Jasmis promotion tainted by the colossal mess that followed. Looking forward to my beers this weekend!!!
14 June 2023 at 6:02 pm #200032I thought Whelan did own the rugby, or at the very least was the majority shareholder?
14 June 2023 at 6:24 pm #200033Just seen the news. Thank goodness for that.
Obviously going to be a tough season adjusting to the new reality, but so relieved we will have a club to support
14 June 2023 at 6:25 pm #200034Danson already owns 25% (49 if you believe some people) of the rugby. He and IL work well together.
Sorry to burst that bubble LHL.
14 June 2023 at 6:31 pm #200035PHEW, i cant take anymore of this lets back MD to the hilt and appreciate just how dire are position was. Up the Danson Tics.
14 June 2023 at 6:37 pm #200036Great news for everyone – except of course Bullitt and Bickymon who now face a choice between eating humble pie and crawling back to their seats in the stadium now owned by a warriors co-owner, or fucking off for good.
14 June 2023 at 6:52 pm #200037Correction; a football club owner (with a stadium), who has nominal shares in an alternative minority regionalised game; who will continue to charge them rent
14 June 2023 at 6:56 pm #200038Great news for everyone – except of course Bullitt and Bickymon who now face a choice between eating humble pie and crawling back to their seats in the stadium now owned by a warriors co-owner, or fucking off for good.
Lenagan owns rugby the majority share holder Danson has shares and has to bow down to whatever way Lenagan votes on decisions
In the last 12 month his wealth has gone up by £238million to become the 119th richest person in Britain with an estimated wealth of over £1.1billion
