As we had to start on -8 points, the number one priority was not to be relegated or be involved in the relegation dog fight. Achieved.
After recent turmoils, a quiet season on the pitch with a mid table finish was what we needed. Achieved. (barring freaky results)
But it’s come at a price for sure. The football has been mind numbing to put it mildly. As bad as I can remember in my 22 years watching us. Has Danson got his clubs mixed up and told the boys they’re only allowed to pass backwards? 
So for me SM gets the benefit of the doubt this season. Next season things must be improved drastically or the fans will turn on him quickly. Quiet mid table won’t do next year; we need to be pushing for the play offs as a minimum and above all, play to entertain the paying public!!
