17 November 2019 at 8:23 pm #182082If we can sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid, Daniel James from United or Aaron Ramsay from Juve we would no doubt put the right balls into him!
No we wouldn’t. If we had 6 strikers in the box against 1 defender, we’d still t**t it at the defender!

(sorry …. so predictaball).

18 November 2019 at 2:43 am #182091Peterborough allegedly want 13 mill for Ivan Toney yet another proven goal scorer who we had and didn’t utilise. Like many others our formation didn’t suit.
18 November 2019 at 3:03 am #182092Toney’s a league 1 striker and didn’t cut it with us, but we had people who did. I wish them luck getting anywhere near £13m
18 November 2019 at 11:59 am #182093Scored a few for us but in the same squad as Will Grigg he was never going to be the main striker
19 November 2019 at 10:44 am #182109I think Toney was a lot better than we realised, and still young and developing.
I also thought we shouldnt have let Martyn Waghorn leave either, but we did. Compared to earlier players, such as Riera, Boselli, etc, they were both pretty good. Why have we become a strikers graveyard? Get the feeling we could sign Lewandowski and he would suddenly stop scoring. Here is a question. Do we not have any positional coaches on the staff? I.E. an ex striker to work with the forwards? I know in the past we have had people such as Keith Bertschin (under Bruce) and Eric Black was an ex striker as well. I am sure it must help if you have an experienced ex pro offering positional advice to players, it cant hurt.
19 November 2019 at 1:55 pm #182112Toney still got criticism on here every time we didn’t win a game but the decision to let him go was taken out of our hands. Newcastle recalled him because he wasn’t getting enough game time and promptly sent him on loan to one of our rivals, which in my opinion shouldn’t be allowed, although it didn’t matter in the end.
As we know annoyingly too well, a goalscorer in League 1 doesn’t necessarily mean they can do it in the Championship.19 November 2019 at 2:11 pm #182114Poor Moore…..Cook supporters fall guy. I agree has missed sitters but I’m pretty sure that Cook didn’t sign him as a pure goal scorer and target man !!!! Think youd have to pay 10 times what we payed for that. His main roll is to make space for others but those others have largely underperformed. His continual selection of Jacob’s,negative set up and substitutions underlines that Moore really isn’t the issue here…..deflecting the blame to Moore is pathetic. Don’t think he was with us last season???…..and still zero improvement. It’s a simple one…..under the present manager we will continue to free fall and the owners may act when it really is too late. But remember Big Roy…let’s crush any ambition because league 1 is our level !!!!

In Moore we have a really good player we haven’t got a manager who will play him the right way. And it’s not just Cookie we have stagnated up top under numerous coaches since we became a Prem team. Will Grigg apart in league 1 winning season we have been very short on regular scorers. I believe we could have one of the best forwards outside the greed league in Moore if used correctly.

Moore’s main role is to score goals. Sorry for stating the obvious but it seems the obvious has somehow evaded this poster’s view.

19 November 2019 at 5:19 pm #182118Yes he’s missed sitters…..but playing in a side on such a shocking losing streak, confidence low and spending the best part of 90 mins getting off the ground for 65yd nine iron balls doesn’t help. How often do we get me wide and serve him something to attack???..Cook doesn’t start Pilkington instead stays loyal to Massey, Jacob’s and the jury still out on Lowe…Cook signed him fo a specific purpose….target man and create opportunities for players coming in from his lay offs and so far zilch.I wonder what percentage of long balls he wins ??? Pretty high i would guess. If you want him to bang 20 or more in then you need support play and balls in from wide for him which he hasn’t had. Or maybe you think we signed Ibrahimovic???? I for one think Geldhardt needs to start with him. Sick off all this tosh about not ready….ffs…everyone allegedly after him and we dont even start him. Beggars cant be choosers. Still fact remains…..Cook has been supported financially as where are we ??? Absolutely no improvement from last season..
19 November 2019 at 8:33 pm #182119Moore up top with 3 behind rotating positions of Geldhart Windass and Pilks. We can’t create or score any less can we?
