I have been watching The Latics since 1971, when Gordon Milne was manager, or it could be 1970, its a long long time ago any way.
I have had a season ticket at the JJB/DW Stadium since it opened in 1999 bar 1 season when we last went into 3rd level football, although we still went to about 10 games.
However, we didn’t renew this year because we would miss the 1st few games anyway because of holidays and other commitments already made before the seasons fixtures came out.
There are 3 of us that normally go 2 adults and our under 18 grand child. Anyway, we decided that we would go today and went online for 2 adults and 1 under 18 tickets only to be issued with a bill of £58 + a transaction fee of? ..anyway I cancelled immeadiately.
This club wanted to charge me over £60 (including the trans fee) to watch a 3rd level football match, and looking at some other games coming up they want to charge me around £77
for 3rd level football for 2 adults and a under 18 ticket. This is an absolute disgrace, and I will not be going to ANY games at all this season or any other for that matter at these prices. I am discussed with the club, I will still be supporting them but via WISH FM from now on and probably for ever. They have lost some very long term supporters here.
An absolute disgrace, hang your head in shame Wigan Athletic
17 September 2017 at 2:40 am #161983Personally. I think you must be a tight old git !
Should have bought your season ticket as normal, because in the long run it works out to be great value; even if you miss a few games because for holidays etc. !
Call yourself a Latics supporter; now’t but a tight owld git !I always buy my season ticket , and if I can’t attend certain games I give my ticket to someone who might enjoy the experience and be tempted to attend more games.
So in future, you’d better stayed tuned to Wish FM and hope you can afford to pay for the batteries; moaning owld git !
17 September 2017 at 2:43 am #161984Theirs a new deal for season tickets that is something like £13 a game for adults and I think about £10 a game for under 18s so what’s your problem typical moaning wiganers try watching Stockport at £320 for a season ticket
17 September 2017 at 2:55 am #161989What a prick you are Papal *anker
17 September 2017 at 2:55 am #161990Like I said, moaning owld git !
if he went, he would probably complain because pies weren’t two and six any more.
17 September 2017 at 3:04 am #161993Just looked kev at the new prices and paying on the day is dearer just like every other club does the new prices are £13-75 a game adults and 11-17 £5 a game 18s £10 a game what more do you want a taxi to pick you up for free
17 September 2017 at 3:08 am #161998What a prick you are Papal *ankerBetter than being a tight old moaning arse :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
17 September 2017 at 3:15 am #162002I must admit Kev, it does look like you have short arms and deep pockets; old boy :( :( :( :(
17 September 2017 at 3:20 am #162004We’ve only played 2 home league games before today – a ST would still have worked out much cheaper had you bought it in the summer.

17 September 2017 at 11:51 am #162013Yes. There’ll be a few ST holders attended their first home game of the season yesterday because they were on holiday for the Bury game, and at Wembley for the Pompey game.
17 September 2017 at 1:47 pm #162016The same can be said for the tight arsed bleeders who wouldn’t pay to attend the Blackpool game in the league cup and use the I am super loyal because I have a season ticket hat. Hope these super fans are there in numbers for the up and coming games against Middlesbrough’s crèche and Stanley.
It is much cheaper to pay in advance as we all know but that doesn’t make it a reason for us to charge ridiculous day prices for matches.
This chap may be a tight owd git but he is totally right as it is far too much for pay on the day especially if paying for a group. Saying that though a credit card to pay in advance would work a treat.17 September 2017 at 5:25 pm #162025The reason the Latics charge £25+ for a ticket is because its the only way they can legally charge 3,000 Bradford & Blackburn fans £25+ a ticket when Rovers come to town. I’d be very surprised if the home matchday ticket sales are any more than a couple of hundred.
The matchday price is aimed to maximise cash from visiting supporters. Home supporters had/have the option of paying around £200 for 23 home games. Anyone intending to go to more than 10 games would be daft not to have taken up the offer.

Absolutely correct
17 September 2017 at 6:11 pm #162028Was it not more like around £300?
