Nearer that than £200 but if our board want to see empty seats then that is their business to charge what they want to non season ticket holders. Maybe they just want to faze out pay on the day and looking at home support this season it’s looking like that is precisely what is happening. Around 8000 home fans turning up isn’t bad but not much hope of any more to be tempted with their policy unless they can force more potential fans to purchase season cards.

I can’t understand this argument at all.
Season ticket can still be bought at a pro rata rate so if you intend to go to 11 of the remaining matches then it makes sense to buy one.
If you are only planning to go to a couple of matches a season then tough shit, you are not a proper supporter anyway, you are just one of a few casual fans that turn up every now and again, and if it costs you £50 for two matches then so be it,
Even if you haven’t got £275 cash to buy a season ticket, you can pay on reasonable terms or slap it on a credit card.
I’m sure this is just a wind up anyway as no one can be as thick as to whinge about having to pay £25 a match when they know they can get a season ticket for the equivalent of paying on the day for 10 matches.

The OP could have renewed as an adult for £249 as he stated that he’s been a ST holder every season bar the last 3rd tier campaign. If he’s got a grandkid, then he may even be at the £219 OAP rate. Either way, the kid’s ST would have been free had he bought one at the outset.

£498 or less for three to watch a whole season (less two games) is very good value.

I can’t help but be very suspicious about the original post. If he was such a long term supporter he would surely have taken note of the prices and not just blindly ordered on the day without knowing. But what is even more suspicious is his lack of a response to all the suggestions offered up that would mean attending matches at decent prices. Something not right here.

Probably on to something there Otter
I pre date the Gordon Milne era (though not by much) …..but if he was a season ticket holder since those days it’s difficult to understand him being ‘sniffy’ about third tier football ? As we played below that level ….and no higher than that level for 35 years after his supposed circa 1970 debut ?

              #162040

He’s probably a “closet egg”, where they are used to getting in on free tickets !

While the subject of Tics fans paying the same as aways fans was brought up I think that all clubs should set away fan prices before the season starts.
Each club can then, say Plymouth charge £30 for Wigan then we should be allowed to charge them up to £30. This is one of the reasons I fooked away games off in the Championship.
I got pished off watching clubs bring 3000-4000 on £20-£25 a ticket while they charge us £30-£40 when we visit them.
As for not paying £60 ?, If me and my lot didn’t have season tickets we couldn’t afford the likes of this week Saturday and Tuesday, pay on the day turns into a dear do

I am not an old tight git and have probably paid more money to Wigan Athletic than most on here!?? Plus, I am not saying that I cant afford to pay around £77 for just one 3rd level match, as I do have my own businesses, and the £77 represents around an hour and 10 mins work of net pay.

So its not that I can’t afford it, its the principle ….£77 for just one 3rd level game of football for 2 adults and a 13yo child is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE….And I will NOT be going to ANY GAMES at these prices this season. It will be the first time since 1971 that I will have not been to any games. When I 1st started watching The Latics I think it was around 10p to get in, and i used to sell programs to get free entry + a few penny’s commission.

We used to go to places like: Netherfield, Skem Utd, Matlock, Great Harwood, Ellesmere Port Town, since 1971 I have probably missed less than 20 home games in all that time before this season.

But, now I think the club is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. Less than 9,000 attended on Sat and there will be even less on Tuesday.

It’s senseless by the club, there will be around 18,000 empty seats on Tuesday, if they started charging £15 for adults and a £5 for under 18’s they may get an extra couple of thousand on.!??

I don’t care what any other clubs charge, I am not interested in any other clubs, and it doesn’t matter what the seasons tickets cost. It’s the pay on the day prices I think are an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!, and as a supporter of over 46 years i believe that i am quite entitled to my opinion without any childish jibes and cat calling thanks very much!

It is too much for the casual fan, I agree but by your own admission you are a superfan so, the club have a solution………..

I miss loads of games as I cant get to mid-weekers, but the season ticket is still worth getting (I get two kids as well). Sad to see a long term supporter feeling that way, but I struggle to see why you wouldn’t just buy the season ticket. If cash isn’t a problem, you can then go along whenever you please and not pay the pay on the day price. Don’t cut your nose off for no reason.

So what about the principle of offering 20 games for £275? Even if you miss a quarter of those games it’s still only a bit over £18 per game. Yo said you would only be missing the first few games. Seeing as you would have been able to attend on Saturday presumably your absence period has passed meaning you can now 20 games at less than £14 each. You come across as, at best, contradictory, but mainly either wind up or a miserable beggar.

How about just making it £18-00 for any game then, with a 10% deduction if you want to pay by season ticket. That would seem fair to all parties and ST holders would get on for £16-20 a match and also get first dabs at away and cup tickets, casuals get in for a reasonable price, service lads on leave, people working away or living away could also benefit and the JCLs who have left could pick their matches and return if we have a good run. The way things are panning out there won’t even be pay on the day or by ticket and crowds will not improve even if we hammer this league.

The contradictions in this post are staggering. Must try harder Kev to wind people up.

Watched non league footy but objected to league one.

Earns £77 per hour but won’t spend £58 on a game

3 hours work would have bought the season ticket in the first place.

Fear for his business if he can’t work out that’s a good deal even missing a handful of games.

By the way i wouldn’t get out of bed for 77 quid an hour
