What if your kids come out hat and you don’t? Seems a tall order to put a 5 year old and a 9 year old through gate then sit outside. What about first come first served? Seems fair to me.
11 November 2017 at 3:38 am #163268Demand won’t be that huge as it’s ont box. Only 3000 could be arsed going to the home game last Satdy. It’s even more money than last Satdy. It’s away on a Friday night.
It’s only a cup game which our manager won’t be arsed about so it’s going to be a weakened team to give the players another break.
So there’s a great chance if you put your name in the box then you’ll get a ticket. Is your name in the hat now you are a ‘superfan’ going to all the Checkatrade games Donny??

What about first come first served? Seems fair to me.I think they have made this move in response to all the whinging. The first come first served basis is usually best, but it has caused some problems recently with there being so few tickets available for some matches.

I had imagined I would be dusting off the fishing chair and sitting down at the stadium at 5am again. That said, 1357 tickets would sell out in minutes.
11 November 2017 at 3:45 am #163271Since I have a PR5 postcode, I’ll tootle on up to their ground and purchase the odd ticket. Well it worked for me and HORc when we sent Rovers down ( chicken on the pitch game ) and we were int the home end tek’in piss ( and I found a tenner on’t way out !I think I’ll watch it on the box, I can’t be arsed with the scramble for tickets especially if some of us who would go together get one and others don’t.
11 November 2017 at 10:07 am #163276First come first served doesnt work if you cant get to the ticket office but they could split the tickets between office, phone and web sales but thats too easy/clever
11 November 2017 at 12:05 pm #163278The club shouldve issued a stub for ALL attending supporters at the Crawley game…but even that wouldnt have worked. The club know who their ST holders are.
The club know which of their ST holders purchased a ticket for the Crawley game. There would be no need to issue stubs, vouchers, golden tickets – it will all be on a database. Some clubs have a loyalty points scheme where ST holders get a point for every away game and all cup games with more points equalling first call on tickets. However, the clubs who operate it do so because demand exceeds availability every game. It would be costly and time consuming to employ staff to trawl back and retrospectively issue points for one game.
Taking the above into consideration, a ballot is the fairest way – as long as two tickets are set aside for your SLO’s who do a fantastic job on your behalf.

Well the thing is, we have season tickets but we just paid on the gate at the Crawley game, like many will have done. No proof that we attended though. Although I could prove it to the club if I had to.
All I hope is that the draw is done fairly and randomly. Its fair to say that anybody without a season ticket has no chance.

Away fans can normally ring Fylde direct for tickets though for this game there is obviously no chance. I’m hoping to use my postcode as well. May have a better chance.

I bought a ticket for the home end when we played at Preston in our premiership promotion season. Sat on my hands when we scored then when they equalised only 3 people didn’t jump up, me my mate and a fella in a wheel chair. Not jumping up gave the game away and it felt a little uncomfortable for the rest of the match, not something I would do again.
11 November 2017 at 1:55 pm #163283Ballotts are for when you have 4000-6000 people who religiously go to away games and the club only had 1,000. in the case of Wigan we have around 500 that go to 80% of our away games and they should be the ones that are ring fenced, regarldless off season tickets.
In this case there could very well be 1,000 brand new fans going to Fylde like those that went to wembley for our semi and final, leaving those 500 who go to Gillinham and Charton a Tuesday night at home to watch it on TV. lets see what Thursday brings11 November 2017 at 2:41 pm #163285Be careful saying things like that on here Dick, loyalty is only recognised if you have season tickets. Most of this loyal traveling support probably have them anyway and go to cup games too so good shout.
11 November 2017 at 6:23 pm #163286I told my dad before what the situation is and I have to say his response was brilliant.
“Its Fylde, not Barcelona! I’m not squabbling with folk and falling out with the club about it. If we get one, fine. If we don’t, its on telly.” Calmness, among storm of anger, lol.
Latics arent at fault. Fylde are. They get 1600 on average, and have given us 1357. So thats 3000. Where are the other 3000 tickets going to go to? They havent got a historic fanbase to crawl out the woodwork, having only been recently formed. Will those tickets end up with Preston and Blackpool fans? Or Fylde people who have never been a game before? Thats the problem. We should’ve had at least 2000 tickets off them.
Our club is managing the situation the best it can.
11 November 2017 at 7:40 pm #163287The away teams are only allowed 15% of the capacity for FA cup games, so that’s 900 so Flyde have done us a favour we all know its crap this ballot but its not Flydes fault.
