I still think the club has done the best and fairest thing. Its pure chance whether you get drawn out or not.
It matters not one jot whether you are one who goes home and away every week, or if you are a home game boycotter who goes most away or whatever. Actually, anybody without a ST is unable to apply, anyway.
This Ballot System- For season ticket holders only, the people who have already put money forward and showed faith to the club. And there will be NO GENERAL sale.
Don’t get me wrong, if it had been a case that Joe Public couldve registered, even if they dont have a Season Ticket, I’d be fuming and going nuts. But fact is, the club has basically made it Season Ticket holdera only, and made it a simple lottery out of all who register.
Club couldn’t have been fairer, in all honesty. Any season ticket holder who registers as has much chance as the next ST holder who has registered. Theres no need for 5am queuing (I was expecting to) and it also irradicates the smugness of people who gloatingly post “I logged on online at 5 past nine and was sorted in 2 minutes”. Hard lines on that score! Ha ha.
16 November 2017 at 3:08 pm #163352Ballotts are for when you have 4000-6000 people who religiously go to away games and the club only had 1,000. in the case of Wigan we have around 500 that go to 80% of our away games and they should be the ones that are ring fenced, regarldless off season tickets.
In this case there could very well be 1,000 brand new fans going to Fylde like those that went to wembley for our semi and final, leaving those 500 who go to Gillinham and Charton a Tuesday night at home to watch it on TV. lets see what Thursday bringsDoes that ring fenced 500 include the MANY that do not go to home games any more choosing an away day out as the only games they attend, these contribute not one penny to WAFC.
In an ideal world it would be:
1. Season Ticket holders with X amount of away ticket purchases
2. Season Ticket holders
3. Those with away ticket purchase history
4. Whatever is left to General SaleDoesn’t matter if you have a ticket allocation of 8,000 or 80, this is fairest way of doing it: ie, reward those have put money into the club first.
Yep bang on , I dont go that many away these days, well the long distance ones but I’ve been a season ticket holder since the mid/late 80’s and hardly miss a game Cup or League. But, I wouldn’t grumble if a true Tic’s home/away supporter got one over me so looking at away history/season ticket holder would be the best option.
Me thinks a little bit of peeping might go on when they choose who gets one first and you scratch my back ….. all that
16 November 2017 at 3:18 pm #163353Hearing lots of people on social saying they got tickets for this but I’d not heard anything. Just spoke with club and looks like I’ve got tickets.

People who go home and away should take preference. This could be the only game they miss because someone decides they wanna go on the piss round Blackpool.
16 November 2017 at 3:54 pm #163355From what I hear, everybody who applied will get one, as demand was nowhere near what they were expecting. I stress though, that that hasn’t come from an official source, but someone who has been right about things in the past.

16 November 2017 at 4:35 pm #163357Any news yet? Anyone? Checked my ticketing account….nothing. ive applied for 4 on 4 different client code’s. Something badly wrong if not ONE comes out.
Or is there any truth in the rumour that Brian Sabin is holed up in the ticket office, holding them all hostage until they process his complimentary ticket?
16 November 2017 at 5:00 pm #163358People saying check your bank and if its pending then you got them otherwise BBC2

So why have you already been on Facebook skriking and whinging and saying that the club will be down by 4 season tickets next season. Presumably you wasn’t drawn out but despite saying above that the ballot is the best and fairest way to do it your dummy has been well and truly spat out.
16 November 2017 at 5:31 pm #163362Got 2, check transaction history on your season tickets if you can find it .I can’t see anything in Wigan Ath tickets online but they’ve def taken £45 from my bank
that’s unless Big D’s on the rob
16 November 2017 at 5:37 pm #163363Yep. Check transaction history. Mine is secured.
16 November 2017 at 5:37 pm #163364You’ve got to log into Wigans e-ticketing site, go to ‘my account’ then ‘account history’ then ‘transaction history’. Find today’s date and if you have been successful it should state that you have a ticket there…or maybe not.
