Bob said on Sky Sports yesterday. Phew!!!! Well that’s a relief.
Maybe he thought we would be? Don’t forget that in the last few hours of the transfer window he was at a football match.
Didn’t seem to effect redknapp, moyes, hughes*, mancini and that mon from chelsea.
and before you start banging on about hughes’s side not playing – he was over 100 miles away from his ‘Transfer HQ’ watching wolves v liverpool.
Might I just add what has been going on for the previous 30 days of the transfer window.
I notice you’ve chosen all the managers from the lower spectrum of Premier League clubs.
But anyway, you missed my point entirely.
The point is not Martinez not being there to finalise the deal, the fact of the matter is earlier on today he was talking of signings.
So, Martinez thinks he’s got some signings sorted, and off he toddles to a football match. He comes off the pitch at full time to be told, ‘Sorry Roberto, they’ve fallen through at the last minute.’
In answer, I don’t know what they’ve been doing for the past 30 days because all the lads I ‘sign’ for my Wednesday night kick about are chosen on the basis that they can stand upright and have six quid to spare.
What did you do in the 30 days when you last signed footballers?
Maybe the players and their agents hold out until the last minute to see if a better offer comes in. Maybe the club are hammering out terms with them because they are not comfortable with them.
Why do you think so many deals are done at the very last minute? Maybe they do all sit around for a month and suddenly realise what day it is and then all hell breaks loose?
The thing is Standish, that for all your “strong suspicion” you’ve no more evidence to back up your theory than someone who thinks he’s been doing beggar all on the transfer front for the last 30 days

You don’t actually know what I base my suspicions on do you Tyldesley? And if not, how can you possibly comment on my lack of evidence?
So do you think the club have been sitting there doing nothing for thirty days?

No and I never said, or even hinted, that that was what I believed.
So why say it then if you know it’s not true?
he probably said it because you said this
“No Hindley, I’ve got a strong suspicion that Martinez was convinced there were several signings in the bag.”
So please explain why your OPINION is more legitimate than his OPINION, in actual fact his wasnt an opinion it was a statement asking the same as I ask you now – what leads you to the conclusion that martinez was convinced he had “several signings in the bag.”
More so are you asking everyone on here to believe that everyone of those “several signings” fell through during a 2 hour period last night when he was stood on the white hart lane touch line – I revert back to a previous post and say numerous other managers completed the task in hand, and one of those managers had been in crown court all day as well.
Further more can I ask you once again what was going on for the last 30 days that has led you to formulate your OPINION.
