I’ve been trying to think of it today but was it Sunderland that United were playing when Soklsjaer ran back & blatantly & deliberately hacked down the last man who was beating down on goal?

Maybe watch back the foul as I have and tell me it was the right option, if you can’t I’ll take the apology. If you can back him up as you appear to be doing tell me why it was the right decision and I’ll debate it with you. If you can be that adult.

Its so easy to make a call, after the event. You must be totally nieve to think at the time it was the wrong thing to do.
He could have got a slight touch on the ball, it is down to such fine margins. I clapped Barnett of the field with the other 1299 latics fans that were there. So that’s 1300 fans who could appreciate the effort he made to stop the guy from running in one and one on the goalie, against you and a rugby numpty, lets leave it at that.
I don’t call after the event, it’s something I always say when any player of any team does what Barnett did. He took the easy option instead of doing his job of defending.
Whether the whole world clapped him off is irrelevant, my stance is see how the play develops and see if they have enough about them to stick it the net. Rather than man off and conceding through pen or the extra man paying off

No it was Newcastle (Robert Lee)

I’m a great believer in letting one on ones go as the amount of times the attacker misses is far more than they score.

You have a point there. It wasn’t Luis Suarez or Sergio Aguero bearing down on goal, it was a Port Vale striker. The odds on 3rd division strikers sticking them away when one-on-one is a lot higher than your multi-million pound internationals.
You do come out with some complete drivel (I was about to say at times, however, it would appear all the time).

The point is, it was a Port Vale Striker (Leauge 1) against a Wigan goalkeeper (league 1). Why on earth do you want to compare ‘apples with pears’. You clot.

Then you talk about the odds between a League 1 striker scoring against a League 1 goalkeeper are different to the odds of a world class striker scoring against a League 1 goalkeeper. I bet the bookies are shittin themselves.

Err, because the international striker is more likely to shoot on target and work the goalkeeper, because they are top players. The 3rd rate bloke is more likely to shoot off target, which renders the standard of keeper irrelevant. That’s why they are plodding around in the 3rd division.

I would have thought that would have been obvious to such an intelligent specimen as you….

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than speak and remove all doubt…

(Insert pithy quote from Anchorman, or other juvenile film, here).

I know. Now I explained it in simplistic terms, I bet you wish you had kept quiet.

After watching it over it wasn’t a take 1 for the team decision it was simply piss poor defending. But thats not what cost us, we were shite up to our 1st goal (again).Grigg on the bench ? Strange one that .At least our home form ok(so far) but need to go at teams away from the DW .Still nicely positioned in a wide open league.

Totally agree and have already mentioned that it was awful defending. What’s all this ‘Taking one for the team’ bollocks anyway? We are 7 games into a season of 46 games in League One, not playing in a play-off final at Wembley! Ha ha ha ! I wouldn’t have been applauding him if I had been there, I’d have been shaking my head and muttering something like ” You fucking idiot Barnett ”

That was a poor sending off, Barnett should have done much better.
Their second goal should never have stood as their mon was all over Barnett.

If we start the games with an attacking mentality & cut out these stupid mistakes this league should not be a problem….
