Did that result against WBA save Cook’s bacon or are the owners right behind him and have discussed a plan to reinforce in January to get players in that will bring quality and confidence?

I was actually quite surprised that he was not sent packing after Luton, but I do believe that we will survive with Cook as manager. Just not sure he can take us to the next level.

FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

You raise a very good point there Jay. Last night was one of our better performances in a long while. Why? Because we got the ball down on the ground & played football. I said it on another thread, but I hope cook continues with this tactic even when Moore is in the side. Just because Moore is a big un, does not mean we have to lump it too him. That particular tactic isnt working. I hope whilst cook was sat in the stands last night, it gave him a better view that the footballing philosophy is far better than the hoofball philosophy. Just lately even I’ve been saying cook out. Just change your tactics & approach Paul & you may, just may keep your job. Revert back to hoofball, which even stevie wonder can see isnt working & it will be back to cook out!

I do think he has taken us as far as he can in terms of being a bottom 6 Championship side, but with the current resources we have I don’t see who can take us further. Hopefully being removed from the stock exchange allows us to spend more money somewhere in order to take the next step.

We need to recruit in Jan and unload one of two i.e. we need a ball playing midfielder who can try and stitch this patchwork quilt we call a midfield.

I’ve now come to the conclusion that it’s not all Cooks fault. Cook has at last changed tactics and done away with the big lad football (for now) and I personally think we look better for it but these midfield player are just not good enough.
You only have to look at Sheff Weds recent upturn in form with an in form Barry Bannan controlling things from the middle.

            Alls well I see…..

Give it a week or so and itll be ‘Cook out’ again.

Mad how two draws can suddenly get people thinking the wars over. Not even had Dunkirk, yet…

Dont get me wrong, Cook has a massive part to play in our demise and I wont change my song. I have wanted to see the back of him for months and that hasn’t changed so I’m sorry to p1ss on your bonfire there with your turn coat remark.

My point is, if and hopefully when the board come to their senses and remove Cook from the helm then I hope theres a kitty there for the new manager whoever it may be as some of these lot are not at Championship level.

Our last 2 games has been a hand forced defensive change (which Cook stayed with Sat) and an injury to Moore forced change.
This has allowed us to try and knock it about rather than zip/lob to the big lad. Now we are trying to play football the quality of our players is highlighted hence why I mentioned a few player changes will be needed asap.

Been obvious for a while that we have several players not up to this level, but bringing in established Championship players on our budget isn’t easy.

Wasnt having a dig at you, we sing from the same hymnsheet, mate.

But Mrs Cook is stocking up for Christmas this week and it looks as if she will be off to Sainsbury’s now, rather than ‘the Lidl’, as was being anticipated.

And its 3 games Ive missed now, and still not missing it, which has surprised me to be honest. But I think we will get turned over convincingly at Ewood.

You’ve missed some good stuff vat, we’ve not turned the corner yet but at least we have our hands on the steering wheel.

                    Come back to us

Blackburn will be a big test tho for Kipper and Beckenbauer

Mate, the thing is, and I said this to my dad at the weekend. At the moment, its like we are in a wooden boat with a hole in it the size of a football, and we are bailing the water out with a coffee mug.

The two draws that I have missed, were again, points dropped. We can’t see out a lead, we just can’t. Its just not enough when we are in the position we are in. In a way, you could say the West Brom point was one that nobody expected us getting, so a bonus point. But if we are to survive, we have to start getting some victories, but I just can’t see where we will get them from. Not confident of getting anything from Ewood Park.

So not a lot has changed for me. The points havent whetted my appetite.

Fair enough. We’re all hurting with the current run and Blackburn is a bogey ground for us. But when we turn the bus around I wanna be there!

                        Because that’s what we do!

The combination of a manager who still doesn’t know which is his best line up and formation 22 games in and a few regular players who are not good enough you’ve got major problems.

I’ve seen far worse over the years so they’ll have to play far far worse to make me even “think” about not going.
I’m a Latics fan and I still encourage no matter what.
Those boo boys and those singing getting sacked in the morning are the ones who should consider not going, that’s something I’ve never done,
Sorry I lied, Coyle was the exception

The bus is not gonna turn around without a new driver Cook has got it stuck in reverse and cannot change back into forward.

I can’t help thinking we was in this position last season and Cook pulled a rabbit out the hat.
We are Latics and always seem to defy the odds, its what we do. Quite a few wrote us off with 20 games to go last season and constantly posted on here that we would drop into the bottom 3 and stay there, we didn’t. More of us this season are saying we are doomed under Cook including me so let’s see if the odds can be defied again. Its obvious that the owners, Royles and Jackson are behind Cook, and a sacking is off the table, otherwise he would have gone after the Luton game. He is here for the season whether we like it or not, so let’s all hope that the rabbit is not super glued in the hat.
