If we don’t win the world cup then surely every Latics fan will want the Belgians to do it. Is it not part of our incredible story if our former manager wins it. Bobbys best times were with us so if it ain’t gonna be us then let him add the biggest trophy in football to his cv.
5 July 2018 at 2:43 pm #170039If it isn’t us, I’m not that bothered who wins, I just want great and exciting games to enjoy, it thats Belgium then fine.
I do however want Roberto to succeed in general, and really don’t agree with the bad feeling towards him.5 July 2018 at 3:48 pm #170040He took us down and should have stayed at least one more season to try to get us back, he looked out for himself and went to Everton.
Hope he doesn’t win another trophy ever, i’ll be rooting for Brazil!
Fuck the EFL

How do you live your life with such bitterness? He took us down, yes, but there was a small matter of an fa cup win. One of the best days of my life.
I wouldn’t trade another year in the premier league for that, and if you would then, fair play, but I think you’re mad as well as bitter.
I remember being at the Swansea game before the final. If we’d won that we’d probably stayed up. But I wouldn’t in a million years trade that for a loss at Wembley. And, looking at the championship table right now, I doubt there’s a Swansea fan that would not prefer winning an fa cup over their achievements since.
I think it’s brilliant what Roberto may achieve and the only scenario I won’t be cheering him on is a Belgium-England final
5 July 2018 at 5:06 pm #170043He also kept us up and beat all the big 4.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Nothing against Bobby & Jonah in the way they left but whilst it’s amusing to see Jonah on the sidelines at a World Cup 20 years after a mate of mine told him to “Put the biscuits back Jonesy, you’re starting to look tubby” when they all piled into a shop we were in at Hammersmith after an game v Fulham, I don’t see how them leaving is part of our story – they’ve left.
They’re ex players/managers/ coaches just like hundreds of others.Mind you what is even more amazing than Bobby & Jonah at a World Cup is seeing Andreas Granqvist there too. I know he was relatively young when he was with us but bloody hell he looked slow & error prone – barely puts a foot wrong now

I think you’re missing the point, the FA Cup win was the greatest day in the clubs history and i wouldn’t swap it for anything, if Martinez would have stuck around another season to at least try and get us promoted i wouldn’t have a problem.
No one is talking about swapping the FA Cup win to stay in the Prem!
Fuck the EFL
5 July 2018 at 9:09 pm #170047I think he was leaving whatever happened.

Over half the team fucked off sharpish too, but don’t let facts get in the way of your personal agenda against the most successful manager Wigan Athletic have had.
5 July 2018 at 11:18 pm #170051Bullitt is one if those sad individuals that always needs an enemy. Either actual or perceived.
6 July 2018 at 12:49 am #170052I don’t get this “he took us down” rubbish. We were always gonna get relegated Bobby actually prolonged our stay in the Prem. He loves Latics and performed the ultimate miracle in 2013. We will probably never witness the like again so if its ok ill support the man as long as he isn’t beating England or the mighty Latics.
6 July 2018 at 1:32 am #170053Bobby is a great bloke and was a fantastic classy player and there is no doubt The Latics are embedded in his heart.
Forever grateful for the most amazing day in my life and the football that day at Wembley and against Huddersfield and Everton.
However it is hard to forget the many turgid boring games that came from the style of play he favoured. A lot of the time it was horrible.
Saying that I wish him all the very best. The Everton move was a done deal months before the cup final. Only wish we had had someone lined up to replace him as Utd did with Moyes and Everton had with Bob.6 July 2018 at 1:38 am #170054Boring and turgid? It was the best football we played.
Sadly it Brazil style football with a Beech Hill budget.
6 July 2018 at 1:46 am #170055When it worked it was magnificent. When it didn’t it could be tedious.
6 July 2018 at 2:09 am #170057No wonder people think Wiganers are thick as pig shit!
Fuck the EFL
