Does anybody know of any coaches with spaces going to Bournemouth next Saturday? Preferably one that you can have a beer or two on.
Cheers

Legally there’s no such thing.
Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985
“Offences in connection with alcohol on coaches and trains.
(1)This section applies to a vehicle which—
(a)is a public service vehicle or railway passenger vehicle, and
(b)is being used for the principal purpose of carrying passengers for the whole or part of a journey to or from a designated sporting event.
(2)A person who knowingly causes or permits intoxicating liquor to be carried on a vehicle to which this section applies is guilty of an offence—
(a)if the vehicle is a public service vehicle and he is the operator of the vehicle or the servant or agent of the operator, or
(b)if the vehicle is a hired vehicle and he is the person to whom it is hired or the servant or agent of that person.
(3)A person who has intoxicating liquor in his possession while on a vehicle to which this section applies is guilty of an offence.
(4)A person who is drunk on a vehicle to which this section applies is guilty of an offence.”The driver/operator of the coach can be charged with an offence.

I see the Puritanical Society for the Prevention of Turning a Blind Eye are out in force again ;)
7 August 2013 at 5:06 pm #119000It’s not me that would need to turn a blind eye, but the police. And they won’t.
Do you really think that message boards aren’t looked at? The OP was wanting someone to say that they were running a coach where alcohol could be consumed.
If you want to get yourself arrested then go ahead.
7 August 2013 at 5:51 pm #119003Dawn raids across all Wigan Coach Companies imminent.
7 August 2013 at 5:55 pm #119005I remember only a few years ago, the police got wind of a coach that travelled regularly to away games and allowed booze. They stopped it before it reached the M6, took all the booze, and wouldn’t let iy go any further. If somebody can’t wait a couple of hours before their next pint, maybe coach travel isn’t for them.

Sometimes I come on here and it’s so detached from the original Cockney Latic I have to give my head a serious wobble.

7 August 2013 at 7:18 pm #119013You can have a drink on a plane, can’t you?
I expect the team will fly. We could charter a plane too!
7 August 2013 at 7:42 pm #119014Agreed! Very poor forum these days.
7 August 2013 at 7:43 pm #119015Then you know what to do
One of the objects of a board like this is to inform. We don’t make the law, but it would be very irresponsible of us to condone acts that are illegal. Whether we agree with the law or not.
And in answer to me saying “you know what to do”. The answer is post something that’s interesting.
